I'm looking around for a good supplier of sword cores, and I'm thinking if I have to go the online route it might be more cost effective to do a group buy. Anyone interested in doing that? |

those are too thick for swords, but they make great glaives and spears... Talk to savetuba, he makes an order from band shoppe every once in a while. for swords i have found that the driveway markers from home depot are pretty good, cheap, and easy to get. the only problem i have had with them is that since they are round it is hard to get the foam to stick to the core. |

See this site for better pricing: http://www.mgs4u.com/fiberglass-tube-rod.htm 1/4" for arrows, 3/8" for swords, 1/2" for Reds, 3/4" - 1" for poles. 50 cents per cut, and an 8' 3/8" pole can be cut twice to give you 3 31" swords Edited by savetuba, Mar 13 2009, 10:41 AM.

if you rub the core with really rough sand paper the foam might stick better |

we did that, and it doesn't help too much, it does however make fiber glass dust which is no fun at all. |

If you do order some, let me know when you're going to and I'll buy a couple of them with you. |

Also, I found this; http://www.amazon.com/Geotek-Sunguard-Fiberglass-Post-Feet/dp/B001CCVPV8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1237873072&sr=8-1 It came to about 75 cents per foot, and these are 1/2" by 5', there are also 1/2" by 4' The only problem I could foresee is wanting something longer, in which case I'd also be looking for something between 6' and 7' if four people were to pitch in and buy five each, it would be less than $20, $4 a stick. |
