I have a couple questions on making arrows... first off, Sir James, how big of a piece of open cell do you use? i used a 3" cube and it seems pretty big. and also i need to cut holes out of some closed cell the size of a penny, anyone have an idea on an easy wat to do that? do you think a big drill bit would work?

I also use a 3" block of open cell. just make sure to clip the corners of it after you tape it down to make the head an octagon shape instead of a square. The most important part of making an arrow is taping it correctly. compact the bottom part of the open cell with the tape, and tape the head tightly onto the shaft. it's kind of hard to explain so i hope you understand what I'm talking about.
A drill would probably work, But like they show in the edhellen design, it is really easy to make a hole with a hot piece of metal. So get a bolt the same width as a penny and heat it with a blowtorch or a gas stove and use pliers to melt a hole in the foam with the bolt. I thought it was rediculus when I first read it, but I just tried it and it is really easy.

Would everyone here say that its absolutely necessary to use yellow cloth on the arrowheads? Id really prefer to use black, because I only have yellow felt rather than cloth.

I use black. I actually I don't think I see yellow covers to often, I think it is only a rule for javs, to make sure they don't get thrown backwards. but i could be wrong
