KBD soloing with melee So...you're reading this guide. That must mean 1 of 3 things. 1) You want to solo the kbd to get rich . 2) You want to solo the kbd coz it looks fun. 3) You're bored and looking for something to do.The stats Ok so before you solo the KBD you're gonna need a few things. These things aren't needed to kill the KBD but it makes it a whole lot easier. Attack: 75+ Strength: 80+ Defence: 60+ HP 70+ Prayer: 43+ (60+ is a lot better) Completed Recruitment drive/The slug menace for initiate/proselyte. Completed Fremennik Trials for neitiznot helm. The gear The main focus of the armour is to have a high prayer bonus. Below is the set up I use. ![]() If you're worried about dying you can swap fury for glory and d boots for rune boots. Also you could wear a ring of wealth but I don't because I don't feel it helps too much. A ring of life would be good too. If you haven't finished RFD for barrow gloves use the highest str bonus gloves you can. The inventory Below is a pic of the inv I take. ![]() It pretty much explains itself. Sharks for healing, can switch with monks if you want but it'll mean less kills per trip. Super antipoison because the KBD has poison breath and before you get in the lair there are poison spiders. Antifire pots so you take no damage from KBD's fire breath. Prayer pots because no prayer = death. Super attack and str to make you hit higher and more accurately. Don't bring a super defence as its a waste of cash. Tele tab incase you get in trouble and need to get out or if you're at the end of the trip so you dont have to walk back through the wildy. I reccomend a home tele tab incase you get hit while you tele and die. If you die in your house you dont lose any items. If not a home tele, take a tab that tele's you to your respawn point so you can easily loot your grave. The DDS is the best spec weapon for killing the KBD. The poison damage really speeds up kills and with a DDS you have 8 chances for poison to work. The getting there There are a few ways to get there. Some are faster than others. Walking Ok so this is the slowest and most dangerous way to get to the lair. Looking at the map below follow the blue line. Walking is not reccomended as there is a higher chance of revs as you are in the wild for longer. Wilderness teleporters This is the way I normally use as it is relatively fast and has a lower chance of revs. What you do is use the teleports scattered around the wilderness. To use these activate the obelisk and stand in the middle of the square. You will then be teleported. It is random where you get teleported so if you don't get the right teleport try again. You are looking for the teleport near the icy part north of the god wars dungeon. Map of the different routes: ![]() Key for map: red dot = Glory tele spot Blue line: walking Green line: wildy teleports The technique Ok so there are a few things you can to that will make killing the KBD easier. When you get to the gate outside the lava maze, make sure auto retaliate is off then take a sip of super antipoison. Then go through the gate and down the ladder. Pull the lever in to be teleported to the kbd lair. The first thing to do when you get here is look for another person killing the kbd. If there is someone, hop worlds. It's not hard to find an empty world. When you get an empty world move to the next paragraph. First take a sip of super attack, super strength and antifire pots. Equip your dds and turn auto retaliate on. Then run towards the middle of the lair. When you see the KBD turn on protect from melee and attack. Use all 4 dds specs then switch to killing weapon. Eat when you need to, for me its under 60hp because if I don't notice pray going down or antifire pot running out I have time to tele out or pot and eat, whereas if you were on 30hp and your pray ran out you would probably die. While killing the kbd a few things can happen and I will explain what to do for each. If the KBD manages to freeze you with its breath, take time to eat and put pray back up to as close to full as you can without wasting a shark/p pot dose. When the breath wears off attack as normal. If you get shocked by the KBD's breath you will find that your skills will have been lowered. Since you are potted up its not really a big deal, but if you are getting closer to your normal levels, pot up again as the extra accuracy and strength are really useful. If you spec the KBD and it doesn't get poisoned, keep checking the spec bar and every time you get another 1/4, switch to DDS and spec again. It is possible to kill it without it getting poisoned but you use more supplies and get less kills a trip so getting it poisoned is essential. After it's dead So you managed to solo the KBD, well done! When it dies the first thing to do is to turn pray off, eat and p pot to as close to full as possible. Then pick up the loot and look at your supplies. If you think you have enough for another kill, switch to DDS, activate spec, and wait for it to respawn. If you don't think you can kill it with the supplies you have left, tele and restock. Its better to kill less and live than kill more and die. The rewards Well this is the best part of killing the KBD, the things it drops! The following information was taken from the Zybez monster guide. Drops: Dragon bones (100%), Black dragon-hide (100%), Coins (3000), noted Yew logs (100), noted Silver ore (100), Law runes (14-45), Mithril battleaxe, Adamant platebody, Adamant axe, Uncut gems, Rune longsword, Rune kiteshield, Rune battleaxe, Rune arrows, Rune limbs, Fire runes (105), Air runes (105), Blood runes (15), Nature runes (57), Death runes (7), Rune bolts (3-12), Oyster pearls, Adamant javelins (20), Iron arrows (690), Steel arrows (150), Iron ore noted (100), Amulet of Strength, Adamant bar, Dragonstone, Crimson charm (4), Green charm (4), Gold charm (4), Blue charm (4), Sharks (4) Top Drops:Half of a key, Dragon spear, Dragon med helm, Shield left half, King black dragon heads, Draconic visage, Rune 2h As you can see if you get lucky you can make a nice amount of profit per trip. Even if you don't get a top drop, the dragon bones and black dragon hide will make you at least break even. The end Well I hope you enjoyed my KBD soloing guide, I tried to put in as much detail as possible. If I forgot something either post it here or tell me ingame and I'll add it in. Good luck soloing the KBD and getting a good drop
