Valerie looks at Mikan and stammers out hesitantly, "Y-yeah! She has a home not to far from here!" A slight realization its her that maybe Alex had actually went to reminisce. "Do... Do you think it'd be alright if we went to find her? I mean... She did run off in the middle of this storm." She is wringing her hands nervously, flitting her eyes around. "This is just too unnatural!... Why do I feel so horrified?" She shakes her head, trying to clear her doubtful thoughts. A wetness was gathering in her eyes, small tears of worry and self-doubt already on the brink of forming. She shakes violently in the dank gloom. Every instance where the lights flash illuminating her hovel of self-hatred, flashes of memories she has repeatedly tried to bury flare to life. She hugs herself as she continues to quiver, feeling alone once more in this world. Thoughts of her early isolation from everyone, the ideas that every time someone glanced her they were judging her up as a monster, bubble up, starting her back on her sobbing. Alex wanted to be alone once more, but craved the affection of a friend at the same time. She looks up as the tears continue to stream down blurring her vision with the rain and mess of hair. She didn't expect to come face to face with a mountain lion, but she did not jump. Slowly she reaches out and embraced the odd creature around the neck as it merely stared out her. In a shaky voice she asks it, "You'll be my friend?" A low rumbling echoes in its throat as it brushes its furry cheek against hers. |

((Wow I've been delaying this. Sorry, a lot of crap popped up and it prevented me from posting. Now stop asking about it. Although thanks for asking about it. Also each of my characters will have individual posts now as they are in separate locations. I.E. I make a post for Kouri, then one for Mikan, then one for Tyrune, etc etc.)) Kouri. Kouri felt the man's hand grasp her arm as the rain continued to soak the ground. The odd thing is that the man's hand felt cold, unnatural.. Even covered in bandages it felt dead. The man's eyes peered straight into her own, making a small chill run down her spine as she felt the urge to fight quietly surface. The man didn't appear to have any large weapons, and if he had magic he would've likely shown it off by now. This left Kouri wondering if she was in fact, not at as much of a disadvantage as she once thought. The man's eyes showed an inner conflict, one which would likely decide if any blood would be spilled on this soil. The man wrenched his hand back, causing Kouri to sigh in slight relief. Violence was not something she jumped at, no it was more something she avoided. However the relief was short lived as the man merely stepped back and continued to hold a violent posture. "Either your naive or stupid." the man commented as Kouri didn't even really care for the insult. At this point the man didn't realize how stupid it would be for him to attack her. Even if he did kill her, the Kingdom would likely make him pay with his life. The man then continued to speak, and all Kouri did was listen quietly. Her deep blue eyes showed both caution and compassion. On one hand, this man might have threatened her life. On the other hand, this man might have just been curious and now felt threatened by her own actions. "I am not afraid. This is probably the last time I will ever see this lake again anyway, whether my journey were to end here or end twenty years from now would matter not to me," Kouri's hand grew hotter, and the rain began to evaporate in about a three foot radius of the hand. "Though if I did have to resort to violence, I assure you.. That arm would pale in comparison to what I can do to you." Kouri's eyes showed a flicker of hatred for the situation. She didn't want to fight, and it was almost obvious with how she stood defensively and how her eyes hid no emotion. She was a Princess after all, not a bodyguard.. Speaking of Bodyguards, where were her bodyguards at a time like this? The rain continued to pour down, causing sight to be weakened. Kouri's best guess was that it was either dusk or nightfall, either way the fact that her dress, her hair, and just herself in general was now completely soaked through in water. A little mud stained the bottom of her dress. The lake however remained eerily calm. The rain hit it, wind began to blow, but it did not seem to effect the lake. Whatever legends they had about the lake's mysterious qualities seemed at least somewhat correct. The main question was if the lake really was able to heal the wounds of the holy. |

((I apologize for not getting on yesterday but I was busy with other things.)) Mikan. Mikan saw out of the corner of her eye as Tyrune scrambled outside. At least he listened to her orders. The mystery woman however continued to speak. As Mikan listened all she could do was smile lightly to herself; this was a chance to prove her worth as a Black Brigade member to someone other than Talon! The Inn was already dead quiet, everyone else was either asleep in some corner or asleep in one of the back rooms. The children were going back to their rooms as the Innkeeper shook his head in slight discomfort. The Innkeeper's wife spoke up. "Lookin' fer' ya' friend eh'? Well I saw er' headin' down the muddy road to the ol' abandoned cabin through that ere' lil' window!" The Innkeeper chuckled to himself, obviously thinking that his wife was making up another one of her tales to keep the guests drinking.. That is until she smacked him on the back of the head and gave him a scowled look. Mikan merely put on a serious, but friendly face and after the Innkeeper's wife was finished speaking Mikan spoke up. "Of course I can help. I'm a Black Brigade member! Besides, I doubt my mission is going anywhere right now anyway. Just lead the way and I'll follow you." Mikan had visited Arian a couple times, but was mostly unfamiliar with most of the surrounding area. It would likely be up to this stranger here to lead the way. Though.. An old abandoned cabin? This was an interesting place to run off to. She had heard about the cabin when she was rather young. Apparently an entire family was murdered overnight, the corpses were barely recognizable. Or was it only a mother? Maybe a father? Maybe both? Mikan wasn't completely sure, but a flicker of interest and curiosity flared to life within her eyes. She would find out, soon enough. |

Tyrune. Tyrune listened to Mikan and after the children got off of him he quickly scrambled out the door. It was impressive for a man of his social status and age. He was a magician, but this might be one of his only chances to impress upon this rather cute and overly cautious girl. Out the door and into the heavy rain. Strangely no lightning or thunder, but before Tyrune could take another step he felt something within himself. It felt as if a thousand Angels were all singing at once in a perfect chorus, with the harmonic sounds of a perfectly played harp. It was an incredible perplexing feeling, and as he began to run through the rain and mud he deduced that it must be from the fact that he knows much about the art of healing others and of the Arcane arts; both dealing with the heavenly sky and the kind stars. As he ran towards where he figured Kouri was, the feeling intensified. It was either Kouri, or the lake. Considering that Kouri was a user of fire magic he once again deduced that it was likely the lake. After all, it did have rumors about its holy nature. The rain cut his vision down and made things hard to see, his transportation magic was almost entirely useless. He began to cut through a couple bushes before he hit something and fell into the mud. Spinning around he growled in annoyance and found it was a person. He couldn't make out the features right at that moment, but he did have rather pointy ears.. "Hey! You! Who the hell are you and what are you doing here!?" Tyrune demanded before taking a quick look around him. Kouri was only about fifty feet away, and it looked like she was in trouble. The heat from her hand was intense anyway.. To turn rain into steam without direct contact would require at least a mediocre knowledge of magic.. Not bad. Not bad at all. |

"Mai... you know what i am saying" "No i don't" "Why do you do this?" "Because" "Why?" "What els is there for someone like me to do?" Mai snapped out of what he was thinking to notice what everyone was doing Mai decided it would be a good idea to move in. (Why was i remembering that?). So Mai started sneaking in just a little bit closer at a time. Little bit by little bit Mai came closer to the man. (I wonder what this man wants?) Mai thought as he came closer to the man. (This felling... what is it? the pulsing? that attracts me like fly's to light?) This confused Mai to no end because... well this had never happened before After a few long seconds Mai was right behind the man Blade ready to be drawn. Mai signaled Kouri to make sure she saw him. And stood there waiting for things to move just a little more. |

Bothered by the magical power the princess called forth Erics senses were heightened. The rain was a dull whisper from a far away land, his own breathing, hers, and the footfalls amongst the wet ground behind him were all taken in and processed. Stuck between a rock and a hard place his mind was pushed to its limits. Attack and risk death, run and risk death another day or do nothing and once again risk death. When the footsteps behind him stopped Eric decided on the last choice. "Don't try a gladiator princess. You'll find out they have a grudge against royalty." Spat Eric. He didn't see this kingdom as his own, nor did he wish it to be. The small similarities however drove him to hate it. ((Sorry for the really short post. Not much else I can do without invoking a small fight. PS> the only gladiators come from Gault, that's important.)) |
