Each table has a coloured cloth - red for Fitzwilliam, green for Murray, blue for O'Neill and brown for Carpenter. The staff sit at a table on a raised dais at the north end of the room. The space in between the tables is the dancefloor, which is made of black and white marble. The tables are cleared away when there is a social event - a dance, for example.
