I meant organizational limit as in, is it limited to one per dot, or GM's (your) discretion, or whatnot. but if you're letting me have unlimited, i'll probably stick to 5, decidable upon interaction (as long as it isn't at an awkward moment to the story to do so), although I may add more if I need it. backing dots will just supply my ranking in them, I assume. i'll also keep a list of encountered organizations, in case of "surprise, I outrank you because I'm a higher up in your parent organization. you might want to reconsider your responses now." moments as well as to keep track of obligations, organizations' connections to other groups, and the organizations' general outlooks on situations. This is coming together well. For those not versed in MegaMan lore, I'll give you the rundown. Sometime in 200X-20XX, Dr. Thomas Light and Dr Albert Wily worked together on advanced, cutting-edge robot technology which would ease the burdens of advanced industry and dangerous jobs from the human worker's back. Due to a conflict not 100% understood (and tending to vary between mediums), Wily grew jealous of Light's ambition for making more and more human-like robots. One such robot, Blues, went rogue due to a flaw in his guidance system which will one day prove fatal - becoming the mysterious red robot, ProtoMan. Light had also made two robots as surrogate children, Rock and Roll. When Wily broke into Light's labs and stole six (later, eight in the PS Vita remake) industrial robots and fashioned them into machines of destruction. Rock, with a strong sense of justice, petitioned Dr. Light to be made into a super warrior robot to combat this threat - becoming MegaMan. MegaMan was very humanlike in most respects, but was still bound by many things - including Asimov's laws of robotics. (Link) Dr. Light wanted the line between human and robot to stop mattering altogether. This posed a power/responsibility problem. He created MegaMan X by unknown means (new robot? upgraded Rock?) and gave him the ability to choose his own fate - true, unbridled will. In order to ensure his final creation did not go berserk, he sealed X in a capsule that would test his morals and conscious mind for 30 years - a process that would carry on beyond Light's final years. Due to unforeseen circumstances, X would remain buried for over 100 years, unearthed by Dr. Cain in 21XX. At around the same time, a mirror of Light's capsule was found, finding the last creation of Dr. Wily - containing a red robot with high-end offensive capabilities named Zero. Zero was kept in a permanent state of combat rage due to a virus-type program left in him, which he was able to pass on to Sigma when they clashed. Removing it from his system left Zero with a clear mind, able to choose a new path for himself and giving him an apparent immunity to viruses. Sigma, meanwhile, embraced his new, berserk personality and took with him many Maverick Hunters who idolized him and created an army set about to create a new world order where humanity would not be equal, but obsolete. (Link). X and Zero also represent their respective mathematical concept - with X being capable of being anything and Zero being a numerically-significant absolute value. Dr. Cain would then use X as a basis as he tried to replicate Light's designs to make new robots - hence: Reploids. However, even 100 years later, Light's designs were too complex to be perfectly replicated. This created the potential for faults in their electronic brains which could create pre-virus Mavericks due to errors, or a simple matter of will. Depending on which timeline you follow, the line between Reploid and Human eventually gets so blurred that you literally could not tell them apart except for a red triangle branded on Reploid's foreheads at creation! And now you know. *Whew* Time for bed. |

Wow, thanks there, Jeff. I knew you'd enlighten us. Also, this kinda is the cat out of the bag for the info I put up for rumors. All of it is from video games, comics or the like. Much like the rest of DtD, I've been stealing liberally. |

Eideann Thraaash'k'tn posted, for your review. Sorry for the delay, I was trying to see if short story format would be sufficient for my character bio, or whether I should go to novella. Actually, I just had some time issues. Please let me know if I've left anything out, or violated anything that would cause problems. |

Dude, you're built like a refrigerator! You're gonna be drawing aggro. I'll fire from a safe distance. I like the fleshed out bio too. Logan and Eideann's first meeting will certainly be a meeting of the minds! |

I was slightly mortified when I counted up the numbers at the end, but as far as I can tell, I've stuck to the brief and limitations. Well, except that with the specialisations, I have an Eldarin who could probably take a truck to the face. Should Dietaku object, though, I can change things to fit in better. |

*sigh* I'm still sifting through the entirety of both books, and have bits and pieces of my character made, although not posted. and I guarantee my backstory, when I make one, will be rather underwhelming compared to the other characters. I've also been a bit busy lately, but not enough that it should detract me from this project to the extent that it does. I'm also tempted to just print the books out........ -edit- also, how are relations between Tzeentch and Luna? -edit2- Jeff, how old is Logan, just for reference? -edit3- Dietaku, can i have a "code" language to use with organizations I'm affiliated with? Brownie, your character is fine. I personally find the idea of an eladrin, a supposedly lithe, light species, having a defense so high a funny thought. The thing with Luna and Tzeentch is an interesting thing. One is a goddess of change with millions of aspects, personas, and forms, but she is not a being of Chaos. Well, perhaps. She is mutable to the point of being impossible to classify, but her mutability does not posses the terrifying malice that other Chaos gods possess. That's not to say she is nice. She's a savage, feral being as well. All in all, I suppose, one could say that Luna is a being of Nature, and the infinite forms life takes, while the Chaos Tzeentch represents is absolute change for its own sake. Tzeentch would see her as a kindred spirit in Chaos, but also a potential rival, as all others are, to his schemes. Also, I suppose I ought to ask, are you guys ready to start, or would you like to wait a bit longer? I could do either. Also, to whet your appetite for more, here's a few more rumors. -The Maverick Reploids are seeking to replace Humanity with a more pliable servitor species. With genes culled from the hardiest of all animals, this Homo Optimus has slowly overrun many planets. Calling themselves the 'Enterrans", they swear allegiance to seven Shoguns, whose leader is the first of all Enterrans. Who is this charismatic leader, and what are his motives? -There's tales of a school who will take anyone and teach them to their full potential. All species, to demons, angels, or even Modrons, are accepted without prejudice. Is this "Academy City" a myth or an oasis of intellectual idealism? -The brilliant scientist Yuna has isolated the Dragon gene. According to his claims, anyone can access the powers of these legendary creatures. All he needs, in return, is the Ouroboros Chrysm, a naturally occurring mineral found in magically significant areas. Is this a breakthrough to revolutionize all life, or is there something more to this discovery? -A new meteor has been sighted in the Astral Sea, much to the chagrin of many. Astropaths in its passing have begun to hear songs proclaiming the arrival of a being calling itself "Dark Gaia." All the while, flocks of space whales follow its path. This may be nothing, but a dark warrior calling himself Freed has been seen trying to gather powerful items, all in the hopes of stopping it. What could this mean? |

GAHAHAHAA! I love it! And to answer your question, since Reploids are built and sent out into the world with a working knowledge of a little bit of everything, Logan is likely shy of 10 years old, but age is meaningless to his kind. Since his tech is pretty recent, I'd say probably around 3 years old. In appearance, he'd be a man in his early-mid 20. |
