The Deputy of Common Sense
Character #1:
Name: Thilatyl
Gender/Species: Male Kobold
Age: 8
Behavioral Alignment: Chaotic Good

Thilatyl stands about 2 ft 10 inches tall, and weighs about 40 pounds. His body is covered in russet brown scales, and has a basic humanoid shape with a non-prehensile tail about a foot long. He has a dog like head with a large mouth, large beady gold-colored eyes, and four tiny horns, two above his forehead, and two in the back of his head. He generally wears a simple yellow tunic, and grayish-colored pants.
Thilatyl is a sorcerer, a person who has innate magical talent that can be shaped to his will. Kobold sorcerers are fairly common, but Thilatyl is a good deal more powerful than most of his peers, and has often been rumored to have been a distant descendant to a great wyrm.
Like most other kobolds, he is silly, playful, and at times appears to have no common sense. He does however, have self sacrificing and generous behavioral patterns, and is quick to rise to the aid of the tormented. Despite having seen both friends and foes alike act in the most abhorrent manners possible and commit atrocious deeds, he still keeps his fragile, child-like innocence that most kobolds have, and rarely tries to stray from his personal moral compass.
(May fill in biography information later)

He is an experienced fighter, and has seen more than his fair share of battles. He carries a rapier on his belt, and can use it with deadly grace and skill, and while he is not physically strong, he is quite agile and can move quickly. Often faced with larger and more physically imposing adversaries, Thilatyl is quick to use his magical talents to subdue opposition quickly. He tends to favor evocation and transmutation magic in battle.

Spells:

1: Disintegrate (Transmutation)
When Thilatyl uses this spell, he can shoot a small, thin, green ray at a target, and attempts to turn whatever is hit into a pile of fine dust, often giving the appearance that they vanish out of thin air. Most objects struck with this are immediately disintegrated, and he can drill a 5x5x5 cube out of most targets. When a living target is struck, it takes a massive amount of damage, and if lethal, will turn into a pile of fine dust. This spell can also be used to damage equipment, if so struck (like a weapon or a shield), however, this will ignore body armor and strike the target instead if it scores such a hit.
2: Elemental blast (Evocation) Posted Image
This is one of Thilatyl's more versatile abilities, he selects a form, an element, and then fires at a target.
The elements he can choose are fire, electricity, and cold.
The shapes he can choose are a beam, explosive projectile, and a cone.
The beam shoots a high velocity blast ended beam, though the explosion radius is only modest and scores highest damage on a direct hit, with minimal splash damage. It explodes in a 3 foot radius whenever it hits a solid object.
The projectile is usually a small bead or ball, that while it does not deal a great amount of damage on a direct hit, explodes to blast a large area. When the projectile hits a solid object, or explodes in midair as can be directed, it will explode into a 20 ft radius burst of whatever the projectile was comprised of.
The cone is a directed blast, that is spread 30 degrees by 30 degrees(Vertical/horizontal) from the origin, and fills the area with a specified element, and blasting targets caught within.
Some of the combinations have subtle, unique properties.
A direct hit from a fire beam will leave a puff of smoke where it detonated.
A direct hit from an icy beam can freeze water.
An electric cone travels perfectly within trajectory, however, a cold cone's trajectory curves slightly downwards, while a fire cone's trajectory curves slightly upwards.
The icy explosive projectile has substantial mass unlike the other two, and can deal bludgeoning damage with a direct hit. However, it is larger, and therefore more easily deflected than the others.
3: Magic Mirror (Abjuration) Posted Image
Thilatyl can focus energy onto one of his arms, and create a translucent disc of energy that shines and reflects light like a mirror. This disc reflects light, but also reflects magical discharges that strike it's surface. When faced with a beam or projectile, the mirror will deflect it the same way that a mirror deflects light, and the target will travel in a distance that depends on the angle of the mirror, the target, and the contact point. Due to this shield's insubstantial nature, it has no effect on physical attacks. It stays up for however long he can focus on it.
4: Elemental shield (Evocation)
Thilatyl can select a basic elemental type (fire, cold, acid, electric, sonic), and make a ring-shaped barrier around himself. This shield will give thilatyl a 50% immunity to the selected element, and when struck in melee combat, damages his attacker for a small amount. This shield lasts for 10 rounds after being invoked. Thilatyl can only hold one of these up at a time, and casting a subsequent shield of a different element will replace the shield. If he casts it again with the same element, and the old shield has more than 5 rounds left of use however, the shield explodes, creating a 10 foot radius burst in all directions that flies out away from Thilatyl, damaging all in the target zone. Casting it with 5 rounds or less will simply renew the shield.
5: Bestow Curse (Transmutation) Posted Image
When Thilatyl casts this spell, his hands start to glow dull green. When he touches a target after casting this, he bestows a curse upon them, hindering their actions. A cursed target deals 20% less damage, takes 20% more damage, and has natural resistance to magic reduced or removed entirely. Thilatyl can keep himself in "curse-mode" for as long as he keeps focus, but when he touches his target, the curse lasts for 6 rounds, and Thilatyl exits "curse-mode"
6: Starlight Flare (Evocation) Posted Image
This spell, when invoked, creates five small spheres of energy, each with a different bright color. After being created, they are shot at high velocity at a target, or can be split to blast multiple targets. The projectiles can curve at slight angles to hit their targets, and leave sparkling trails as they soar through the air. They explode when they touch a solid object into a 1 foot radius burst. An affected target takes a minor amount of positive energy damage, however, the flares also contain a touch of anti-magic, dispelling positive effects with those they come in contact with. They can also dispel magical barriers and shields on contact.

Abilities:

1: Sense Magic
Sorcerers can often times, feel raw power that beings and objects have. Thilatyl is no exception to the rule, and he can detect magical energy like a sixth sense. Extremely powerful objects and people are detected automatically, and Thilatyl doesn't have to concentrate to perceive it. Such cases are rare though, normally, on a semi-powerful individual, he at least has to concentrate, but can usually perceive such an aura with minimal effort. He can however, use this ability to detect traces of energy (such as blast residue or an enchantment in-progress), or someone trying to deliberately hide their powers, but this takes a good deal of concentration.

Equipment:

Rapier: Thilatyl, when expecting danger, keeps a rapier sheathed on his belt, and pulls it out when he needs to use it. It is appropriately sized for a wielder of Thilatyl's size. It's blade is long, thin, and light, and while it has a sharp edge, is not meant for slashing, but rather for thrusting. It's light weight means that it can be swung quickly, but it is not well suited for parrying the blows of larger weapons. The blade comes with a hand guard, and an undecorated, yet practical hilt.

Special Move: Blast of the Dragon Father (Evocation)
When used, this will make the caster glow yellow with power, and then unleashes a magnificent amount of energy onto a target. This spell creates a massive beam of energy, which upon contact with a target, will envelop it in energy, then explode with a 30 foot radius. Targets hit by this will often be knocked backwards being blasted by energy, though the exact time of detonation is controlled by the caster. This spell deals a massive amount of damage to the target, and deals considerable splash damage as well. It is powerful enough to plow through most other beams, projectiles, and is stable enough not to prematurely detonate until the caster wishes it to.

Tylakar came from a large human populated city. This place however, much to Tylakar's dismay, was ruled by large, corrupt religious orders and noblemen that flaunted in wealth while the majority of people lived in relative poverty. It didn't really help his disposition that the religious orders, often preaching that wealth is corrupting and not to steal, murder, etc, that they hoarded wealth, killed anyone they deemed a heretic, and in his mind, stole wealth from everyone inside with their 'tithing.' He was part of an underground organization that was working to release the religious order's hold on the city, where, during the day, he largely sat at home, struggling to get a paying job to feed himself. At night, he had other.. talents, burglary, theft, the like. Tylakar targeted every temple he could find and 'liberated' plenty of wealth from their hands in order to fund his underground organization. Eventually however, the antics of Tylakar's organization became enough of a nuisance that the temples had every member rounded up and executed for heresy. Tylakar managed to keep no documents of his acquisitions, and managed to evade being captured. However, with the fear that his 'antics' would be discovered, he left that city, angry at himself for not being able to help his friends in the end, and for leaving the place still in the hands of corrupt noblemen.

As a person, he is pessimistic, surly, easily excited, and oftentimes comes off as a jerk. However, he often finds that he gets 'attached' to other people and deeply cares for the well being of those he considers his friends, regardless of how he shows it. He has a very deep distrust of any form of clergy, and is often downright rude to clerics, paladins, or those who espouse any form of religion, regardless of whether his feelings towards them are justified or not. He also has a deep rooted dislike of those who use power and wealth to abuse others, which comes from his extensive experience dealing with corrupt clergy.
