"Let the light flood your body..." Relaeh murmurs, as he completes his :heal: upon Sirius!
Does being the only sane one make me the insane one, in a sort of way?

Graham steps aside to watch as Sirius turns his targeted skeleton into a fine mist, and SFX's fist randomly ignites with flames in the shape of a massive predatory bird as his skeleton (who I take this time to remind you got the chance to take exactly 0 actions this entire fight) is turned into an artistic black streak on the ground.

Releah's healing spell seals up the parts that were torn open on Sirius' body, as well as quenches the dark flame that had been harming him. Which I guess it fine, not as though it was at all necessary as the skeletons were pretty much dead as it was but whatever turns ya on, Root.

Graham sighs in relief as she brushes her hair behind her ear as she turns to the others, "That was... um... different. By the way, does anyone know how they were moving without any muscles or veins? ... Never mind. I don't see anything worth taking... which is a shame but... uh..." she then glances around as she strolls over to the fountain. She pauses as she dips her hand into the water in it and bring a handful close to her nose. "It's... fresh water?" she wonders aloud, "But that'd mean that they have water pumps and filters running through here..."

She turns to the others, "Did someone else come here before us, you think?" She shrugs as she lets the water run through her fingers, "Hey! Look! There's a big drain here! We could climb down into the waterways here... or, if you're claustrophobic, we could explore down the switchbacks to the farm, or to the tunnel. What do you guys think?"

Relaeh wonders with a dreamy look upon his countenance a moment before replying. "Waterways don't sound fun, I suggest the farm, personally." he comments.

SFX stops and ponders for a bit, turning rather concerningly genre savvy.

"I dunno, if there's undead present, a farmhouse may not be the safest place...and generally, in stories, it's the darker places like waterways and tunnels that lead to the treasure. I suppose you can say that those are just stories, but didn't most people believe that what we've just encountered were stories? I don't have a definite answer, just throwing my two cents out there."

SFX pauses, removing his goggles to clean them...

"If I had to make a suggestion, I would probably go for the waterways. We might get a good lead..."

SFX stops, smirks, and speaks again, while putting his goggles back on.

"...Or we could wind up treading water."

"Thanks for that" Sirius says to Relaeh.

Personally I suggest we continue investigating our current situation. This water leads to something important, I can feel it.

You give Graham a hand as you grip the rusty grate and remove it with a swift, forceful tug and toss it aside. With the bars gone, the drain turns out to be surprisingly large, allow each member of the team to slip down with minimal effort. Graham turns to look around. It's pitch black. Damn.

"This is inconvenient... can we get a plot-light, please?" Graham quizzically mutters. Suddenly, a dim glow of an unclear origin lights up the tunnel in a dramatically-convenient way, being sure to angle it in such a way to give the maximum ambiance. Graham is visibly taken aback as she gawks down the way - barnacles hang on the walls, various kelp and seaweed commonly found on the ocean floor line the path and lower parts of the circular walls and even some tropical fish swim against the warm current. "Well, THIS was predictable what with being submerged for centuries... but even still! Eh, guess it's better than it could've been!"

You tread the water, heading towards the source of the water because - face it - you've got nothing better to do at this point. "I hope we don't have to fight giant spiders, rats or bats. That'd be so cliche." Graham observes in a strangely casual way. You enter into a dome-shaped area that seems to be some kind of junction for the water flow. A type of mechanism is submerged, a sort of turbine being turned by the ebb of the flow. Graham notices something round, floating just high enough to be visible over the water's surface. The objects are round and white. "More pearls? Well! Finders-keepers, right, boys?" she goes closer but suddenly leaps back as a massive, brightly-colored frog leaps from the stream. "Wh-what?!" Graham shouts, narrowly avoiding a surprise tongue-attack. "Be careful! The bright coloration means they're probably poison!"

"They?" you wonder, but notice two other pairs of eyes in the water, watching you. You could always just run and not worry about it, you figure, but as you turn, two massive snakes slither in from the direction you came. Were they... following us?

"Well, that's just great," Graham sighs, "Let's do this!" She then brandishes her whip, "Stay out of the water. If they drag us down, we're done for..."

The room is circular in nature, with 4 stream pouring into a deep, circular pond in the middle where the machinery lies. The East and Westerly streams hold one Dart Frog each and the Southern stream houses the two Adders. There are four large dry areas, encompassing the "corners" between the streams, giving plenty of room to maneuver within. Remember: if a team mate falls in the river, they are liable to get roughed up badly, so be sure to help pull them out if they do!

Relaeh jumps out of the water onto one of the dry (drier?) patches of land. "Strange, I thought these creatures often left other beings alone unless they became a threat? Or perhaps we disturbed them...?"

He doesn't wait for a response. Instead, Relaeh calls upon a holy power, and in a flash of brilliant light illuminates the entire chamber with a flash, blinding all the fiends that gaze upon it. ( :transcend: Transcend)

"Hmm, these are simply animals" Sirius states, making his way over to the northwestern dry section, Becky close behind.

"if that's the case, we should have no problem. Animals are my specialty, Please allow me to calm the frogs, as we have likely invaded their territory."

With that Sirius focuses on the second dart frog and telepathically communicating to it, attempts to both calm it down and coerce it to their side, and to determine if they are a threat to the group. "We are not here to harm you or your eggs Sirius tells the frog, The adders are a much larger threat to your children. We will help you eliminate them in exchange for safe passage."

Becky meanwhile stays in the water in the same stream as dart frog #2, eyeing it warily. (Becky is much more mobile in water then she is on land)

SFX quickly retreats to the southwestern patch of land, and monitors everyone else's actions.

'Sirius is trying something...' he thinks.. 'I should probably have a plan on backup.'

SFX starts charging energy, a light blue glow coming from his arm-cannon....

Sirius' attempts to communicate do not go unnoticed. The second dart frog has to pause to assess the message its receiving before replying telepathically:

"I understand. We were startled when your group came here, but I sense you are being honest. The adders' venom is far worse than our own and they eat our eggs when they get the chance to. If you will help us kill the adders, we will venture into their den and be rid of them. Afterwards, we will take you where you wish to go. These are the terms of our agreement,"

It then quickly relays its message to the other frogs, which seem to understand the transaction.

Surprisingly, all three Dart Frogs have joined the party! We've accepted the "Den of Vipers" sidequest... whether we like it or not.

Relaeh throws up his light against the now-many-fewer enemies. One adder dives below the surface but the other is hit by the light.

SFX charges up energy!

Graham is suddenly taken aback when the frogs leap onto the ground to stand beside their (mostly) human party members. One glances at her in a way that seems to display some form of froggy empathy, causing Graham to no longer fear them.

The surfaced adder realizes his odds are against him and holds a defensive stance. The dived adder is preparing an attack, but it's difficult to tell against who...
