I know I've been out of the loop for a while now... but life's been settling down and I've had more time on my hands. Anyways, I know a few of you use Wii's, so I thought it might be a good idea to put this notice up.

Aka, if you have a Wii, modified or no, don't update. You're extremely likely to brick your system. They have offered customer service but if it's as good as Acer's customer service, it likely means you're out of luck.

In my opinion, I think this update came from their management and software development team not communicating. (usually management ignoring the software team). The result is error-prone software, I'm not sure how a rudimentary test run could have missed something like this.

Thanks for the head's up on this one. I read the post only shortly before I went to play Rune Factory some more and go the e-mail prompting for the update mentioned above, so I owe you one.

Second, I find it hilarious that they're so bent out of shape over homebrew stuff. In fact, companies get REALLY bent out of shape over remarkably stupid things.

I had to format my hard drive not too long ago, courtesy of a rather nasty bug bomb... that wasn't really a big deal, once I had everything in motion since I still have my (perfectly legit and legal) XP disc. Upon installing all went well, but it gave me grief concerning the validation code, and then I got to fight the help-line robot multiple times over the course of the next 30 days. Which was, needless to say, not fun. I somehow got hold of a rep when I - get ready for this - CLEARED MY THROAT whilst waiting for the robot to shut the hell up. If I had known THAT would've worked, I would've done it a month ago! Then, I told the lady that I simply wanted to validate a legit and legal copy of XP and had no way of knowing how many computers it had been installed on, she just gave me the validation code and wished me a nice day.

IF IT WAS THAT EASY WHY DID YOU MAKE IT SUCH A BOTHER, MICROSOFT?!

Seriously, companies need to stop PMS'ing over stupid things.

Isn't this like the second update Nintendo's done that ran the risk of bricking the system?
