Detect Evil (Sp) - At will, a paladin can use the Detect Evil spell. Smite Evil (Su) (1/day) - Once per day, a paladin may attempt to smite evil with one normal melee attack. He adds his Charisma bonus (if any) to his attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per paladin level. (e.g., a level 13 paladin with a longsword would do 1d8+13 damage, plus any additional bonuses.) If the paladin accidentally smites a creature that is not evil, the smite has no effect, but the ability is still used up for that day. Gains an additional use per day every 5 levels. Divine Grace - At 2nd level, a paladin gains a bonus equal to his Charisma bonus on all saving throws. Lay on Hands - Beginning at 2nd level, a paladin with a Charisma score of 12 or higher can heal wounds by touch. Each day he can heal a total number of hit points equal to his paladin level times his Charisma bonus. A paladin may choose to divide his healing among multiple recipients, and he doesn't have to use it all at once. Using lay on hands is a standard action. Alternatively, a paladin can use any or all of this healing power to deal damage to undead creatures. Using lay on hands in this way requires a successful melee touch attack and doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity. The paladin declares how many of his daily allotment of points to use as damage after successfully touching an undead creature. ------------------ Languages ------------------ Common Celestial ------------------ Backstory ------------------ Galen was born to a fairly well to-do family, but at a young age, he fled his home in seek of adventure. While running away from home, he was set upon by monsters while traveling in a desert, and nearly died. But just as he was on the verge of collapse, the light of the paladin welled up within him, giving him strength to escape from the dangerous situation relatively unharmed. He accepted the call of the paladin and sought out a mentor. His mentor, one Christoph Leonte, taught him many things, before suddenly vanishing after being implicated in an accident.
