Decade opened with Decade SLAUGHTERING everyone, and Double opens with a wonderful scene of Double BLOWING UP AN ENTIRE FLOOR OF A BUILDING, and a nice view of the rider with flames behind him\them and glowy red eyes. Welcome to the entire trend of "Antiheroes sell" And this is even moreso today with Kamen Rider, as the main demographic of KR is not surprisingly, housewives needing jill material. Thus, "Bad boys" blowing things up? Yeah, totally going to be a winner with that demographic. Which blows MY idea of a college age, part-time worker rider who fights evil in between her three jobs right out of the water......(Sigh)

To sum it up, I saw the first episode today subbed. I actually think it's pretty cool. My original "LOL HE BLOWS UP PART OF A BUILDING" thing was inaccurate. It was a baddie, it just looked like Double did it by the angles and the flames and whatnot. Also, Philip can read about anything that ever happened or existed on this planet. That is all. I swear, this post was better in its first incarnation. Bloody glitches that happen to only me.

I mean the show is action packed but seriously, what kamen rider show isn't? to me the whole concept of this kamen rider just seems stupid. With decade we had a bad ass character, with a not so bad ass costume, but his bad ass personality did a great job of overshadowing the not so great costume, so did the whole premise of the show, in how we could see a bunch of our old favorite kamen riders back in action, which helped make the show kick ass. Now with double I feel that we have the exact opposite, a not so bad ass character (in this case 2 not so bad ass characters), a kick ass costume design, but a stupid premise for the show, which to me, is the same problem that Kamen Rider Kiva and Den-O had. The costumes were kick ass, but the rest of the shows extremely lack in the character department for me. I mean after watching the first episode of W, I already don't like Philip at all, and he's the second main character. Also, the thing that pisses me of the most is that a lot of the new Heisei era riders have been gradually getting more and more feminine looking without actually being women. Especially now in Double with the whole thing about "two bitch boys become one to save the world" crap. I mean give me a break, just start making Kamen rider shows about female kamen riders and ditch this pretty boy crap already!!!! I would much rather have another kamen rider show with riders more like Hibiki or Kotaro Minami (from kamen rider black and black RX). I'll probably still watch the next few episodes that come out of double, to see if the show gets any better, but if the first episode is any indication, I don't think I'll last all that long...
