I thought I'd get the Debate team Forum Going, as there aren't any posts in here yet. So, I've been browsing through a lot of political/science forums and on many of them the hot issue is Overpopulation this struck me as an intriguing issue that a lot of people don't really talk about. Personally, I don't really believe that over-population can be stopped. People are made to populate, however I do believe that we can make it easier to cope with a huge amount of people by building colossal skyscrapers that reach through the atmosphere that can house millions of people, while only taking 5 square miles of space such as the one being planned in the Grand Canyon. I also think that we could colonize other celestial bodies in the near future to hold more people, such as the moon and Mars. Any opposing views or opinions? Please share here! |

If we make colonies in space and on the planets, they'll rebel and then the Earth Federation will have to put those Zeon bung holes in their places. Okay, seriously... I don't even believe Overpopulation is as big a problem as a lot of people claim it is. They were saying 10 years ago the population should've hit 10 billion by now, but it hasn't (we're at roughly 6.6, I believe). Humans just aren't procreating like they used to and several countries are generally losing population per year. And another element to consider - would the Earth really be any worse off is humans just all dropped dead? ... Didn't think so. That's your optimistic thought of the day!

FEDDIE SCUM! ZEON FOR LIFE, SUCKAH! Seriously, though. I honestly can say this....With the medical technology of the human race hwere it is, and with children being able to survive well into adulthood being a regular thing, I honestly can say that the need for parents to have so many kids is really over. Thus, to all you people with ten or more kids, INVEST IN GODDAM CONDOMS, THERE ARE ENOUGH OF US HERE, ALREADY! I however, also would fully approve of a bigger budget being made for NASA so we can get into space, and evantually be living there. This is more me being a science fiction buiff more than practical, but I can dream, can't I? |
