Trepidation Genesis Chapter: Birth of a Biological Terror Ran by: TwilightShade ============================================= Introduction: Welcome to the first part of a possible three part roleplay I will be hosting here. I want this to be a positive experience, one that stays active, and one that isn't ruined by selfish roleplayers. I want it to run smoothly, efficiently, but I also want those that participate to have fun while moving through the story. Read the background information and other info below before signing up. Thank you. ============================================= The story thus far: Negat, a battered nation of the planet Kryvktz, has recently been beaten down in war. The oligarchy has lost control of the people which live within the borders due to dissatisfaction, loss of morale, poverty, and much more. The people are outraged. They feel that the current corrupted government should be overthrown, and ultimately, destroyed, so that a new, more effective system can replace the rusted and broken old one. The higher-ups see things differently. They wish to regain control of their nation as soon as possible by any means possible, so that they can continue doing what they have been doing for decades; scamming their people for their own personal gains and enjoy a lifetime of vast wealth. However, the war has drained their funds to a critical point. They have decided to spend their last funds on a last-ditch project which according to intelligence, could accomplish all of their goals and desires, and more. Such information has been intercepted by the Negatrium resistance organization which transcends the nations of the world. They are highly covert, and the government has little to no information on them, and thus, fear them. The resistance, deciding that the oligarchy has become corrupted beyond repair, is sending forth a small, elite team to infiltrate the base in which the government's project is taking place, and destroy it, along with whatever they are working on. Such a blow would end the corrupted reign and sap the higher-ups of their remaining power, and with that obstacle gone, the Negatrium could restore the nation and set up with a new, more just form of government. Sadly, the oligarchy is not alone in their quest to regain control. A previously unknown cult of Shamans has been hired by the oligarchy to assist them in their research, and to develop many other horrific ways to enforce the will off the government, and oppress the people. The resistance does not know of this collaboration, but is guessing that the government is not alone in their quest for power. You are being sent by Negatrium to destroy the base which the government holds so dear to their last chance at corrupted power. You are also expected to destroy any projects that the government and cult is working on. This mission will not be easy, nor will it be simple. But if you don't, who will? ============================================= To sign up, post a resume that includes the following: Character Name, Gender, Age, Weight, Height, Race, Abilities (Can be fantasy, modern, or futuristic, it doesn't matter), equipment, personality, and fighting experience. Your character must be willing to take on massive challenges, and must be an experienced fighter. Only those that I believe have the skill and knowledge to participate in this roleplay will be accepted, but do not hesitate to try to sign up. Please PM the resume to me. Do not post it. That should be enough players for now. I can always incorporate more into the story as needed. Now, before we begin, there are a few things I'm going to note. These are all really important details, so please read them all. 1) I'm going to have a level up system, replicating an RPG video game for the entire RP. Defeating enemies, stylish moves, and many other things will give players score, which is used to level up. HP is gained with each level, increasing the maximum amount you can have. 1b) When this RP is finished, you can choose to transfer your character data over to the next RP, assuming you participate with the same character. Otherwise, characters will start at level 1. 1c) Although leveling up is beneficial, it is not of paramount importance. Not many strikes in the enemy's arsenal will be able to inflict 100HP worth of damage at once, so leveling up just once once is a possible route to take. 2) Because of this level up system, enemies will be smarter, but will have lower HP, making them easy to plow through but difficult when fighting an intelligent boss that's tough as nails (cause they are). 3) Defeating all of the enemies in a room is never necessary unless it is a boss or a plot point. Trapping enemies in a room is always a possible option, as is fleeing. They may give chase, however. 4) If you die, well, you die. There are no continues in this RP, but you are given a suicidal mini nuke to use when you hit 0HP. Using this gadget will inflict critical damage to any enemy in the room and possibly to ones in neighboring rooms. Players are also given anti-nuclear field generators which protect them from all nuclear blasts except their own. 5) Have fun and good luck! =) Alright, let's get started... :>Begin Log Entry :> :>November the 26th, 2XXX @ 9:15PM Standard :>Units have been deployed on schedule. Estimated landing time set at 9:42PM Standard. :> :>Greetings. This is your instructional log concerning your mission tonight. The task is simple, but in no way easy. Your :>primary objective is to locate and terminate the life form codenamed "Trepidation". Your secondary objectives is as :>follows: capture the criminal organization we believe to be aiding the government. If this is not possible, killing them :>is acceptable as well. :> :>You have been given two tools to aid you in completing these missions, a Mini Nuke and an Anti-Nuclear Field :>Generator. In the regrettable event of your death, do not hesitate to use the provided equipment, but only do so if :>you are unable to continue the mission. :> :>That is all comrades. Bring peace to our nation so we may rest easy once again. We have recorded this log so that you :>may access it at any time in case you need to be reminded of your objectives. :> :>End Log Entry SFX, Matsuo, Pea Princess, and Windsor all come to in a dark and silent room. Visibility is low but adequate to explore the surroundings. After a first glance, there are no enemies in the room and no objects able to be used for battling or exploring purposes. "This mission is very delicate..." SFX whispered to the other figures. "We have to strike swiftly, and powerfully. If what the Negatrium said is correct, failure in this mission could result in dire consequences...." "We're going to have to use our abilities wisely for the sake of stealth, and not just sheer power. I imagine you're all smart enough to understand this?" SFX stated everything bluntly. He knew the severity of the situation and wasn't going to tolerate stupidity. Fortunately, he was familiar with at least one person in the mission, so he was at psuedo-rest. |
