Well, I have some very important news for all the kamen rider fans on this forum and it's that Kamen Rider Dragon Knight has begun airing on the CW network on Saturdays at 11:30. unfortunately I got so caught up in Kamen Rider Decade that I completely forgot that the show even premiered in January. So for everyone else that forgot about the show, just to let you know, we are now 5 episodes behind...

Thanks to the technological wonder known as "TiVo", I am up to date on Dragon Knight. It's surprisingly good - the fights (outside of costume, which is footage from Ryuki proper) are amazing well-choreographed, the CGI enhancements are a nice touch and they picked a really good set of actors to play the cast. True, it's not perfect, but so far, I find myself enjoying it. |

ok, well thanks to my friend the internet I have gotten caught back up on Dragon Knight. I honestly have just been breeding myself to hate this show since I first heard about it and all the changes that have been made from the original. BUT after watching the show I would have to agree that I am enjoying it so far. It's not as good as an original kamen rider show, but it still maintains a strong amount of spirit that the originals have. there are still many things wrong with the show but ya overall it is turning out pretty good so far. I mean I don't think that the acting is any worse then all the other American shows on prime time tv right now ( which basically means that the acting is bad, but not so much that the show is unwatchable) I would have to say that America really has the majority of great film actors, but japan has better television actors. I also find it just silly that they find it so necessary to replace the word Kill with vent... I mean why do they think that sounds any better? The way it is described in the show, it basically sounds like a fate that is just as bad if not worse then being killed. Hell it actually sound worse to me, first time I heard some one in the show say it I thought it sounded like some bizarre taboo sex act, and I started getting disturbing images of kamen riders saying things like "vent him harder!", "I just got vented so fucking hard" or "vent him up the brownie hole!" or "he vented me good" or how about "I don't want to be vented" or "I've never vented some one like that before" ... wait... I think they actually said those last two in the show... |

For those not keeping pace with KR: Dragon Knight, being vented means your a rider who got resoundingly pwn'd. Your penalty? You spend eternity in a shapeless, featureless void between Ventara and Earth getting to dwell on how bad you SUCK. Best case scenario? You dehydrate and die slowly and painfully. Worst case scenario? Your metabolism stops and you spend all of eternity lamenting how bad you suck until you just decide to stop thinking altogether because thinking ONLY BRINGS YOU MISERY. That's a little hardcore. You can't even go "LOL, Shadow Realm" because at the very least, the Shadow Realm was a PLACE with FEATURES and GROUND and the like. And being vented is NOT something the show takes lightly - they get actually distressed over it. AND THIS IS THE CENSORED VERSION?! Shit, it'd be better to get killed! |
