Whilst I agree they were needed on Common Lane, I wish they had put the smaller ones in, rather than the ones that go all the way across

Totally bad idea in my opinion, I'm sure the emergency services would agree also. I think genghis khan has a point, I still see boy racers tearing up and down, surely the youth of East Ardsley have better things to do of an evening!

yes appears they do.....they were urinating on my garage the other day, they have already ruined my Patio Set !!!!! Maybe its time to close the park down as it appears to be attracting the wrong type |

I may have a solution to this problem for you. A system can be bought to ward off animals from your property, such as cats & rabbits etc. A PIR sensor can be placed on your house wall and when the signal is broken a loud shrill is emitted frightening away any unwanted intruders. I'm sure a slight modification linked into the PIR, along the lines of a car alarm, can be rigged up to deter these spiteful wrong doers from your property. Also I don't think the park is attracting the 'wrong type' as you put it, I think it's your property that's the problem!! Look into the above solution, you could also link in some high beam floodlights to create a better effect. |

I did try a home fashioned alarm system but this was stolen 12 months ago. I think the beer cans left in the park on a regular basis does point to some unwelcome parties frequenting the park area |

I think we are moving away from the initial point of discussion - speed bumps! I find it ironic that the powers that be are inflicting speed bumps on many suburban roads whilst actively planning a potential widening of the motorway. Reading on a forum regarding the cost & local spending on the new Morley Sports Centre development, questions were raised about further local government contributions towards the M-Way widening between Junctions 28 & 29, and the possibility of more money being made available to compensate the '...affected residents of East Ardsley & Thorpe.' Other peoples thoughts on this would be most welcome. |

I doubt the council would be planning to widen any part of the motorway network, particularly around these parts. As you probably know the entire estate is built on the site of an old concrete factory, concrete has a shelf life of 25 years and thus is likely to deteriorate in places and cause subsidence, a friend of mine who live near the mway side has already had surveyors round twice to check on early signs of subsidence to his house. |

the speed bumps aren't very useful, as you pointed out, but if they are tearing up and down the road, there not the same (18-25 yearolds) people urinating on your garage and "lovely" patio set, (which you go on and on and on about) |
