Welcome!

Welcome to the Flight of the PhoenixTM. We are a Harry Potter RP set in the year 2098. There has been a century of peace since the defeat of the Dark Lord Voldemort, but something dark is lurking in the shadows once more. The Order has been reformed and the Wizarding World is prepared, this time...

Why not take a look around the site, and maybe create a character!
(Note we only accept original characters)

RULES
"Ignorantia juris neminem excusat"
- Ignorance of the Law excuses No one. -

General Rules

One.
  • One Character Per Account. You are only permitted to have one character per account, as this makes it a lot easier to tell who you are plus allows you to have a graphic set for each character. You are however allowed to have an unlimited amount of other characters providing they all have their own account.
Two.
  • Register with a Proper Name. You must register with the first and last names of your chosen character. You do not need to register with a middle name and anyone registering with anything other thantheir characters name will be warned and must let the admins change it. This is simply so we all know the actual name of your character.
Three.
  • Be Realistic. When writing your application you need to be realistic about everything you are writing. I do not want to see loads of people claiming they are the World's most powerful Witch/Wizard or that they can do something not found on the special powers list. As long as you application is realistic, it will be accepted.
Four.
  • Respect our Staff Members. All the staff of 'Flight of the PhoenixTM' are here for a reason. They are here to enforce all these rules and to make sure the board and the RP runs smoothly. Please do not give them a hard time. If they ask you to do something, do it, but if you feel it is unjustified or unreasonable contact me first and I will deal with the matter.
Five.
  • Have Fun. Despite all these numerous rules and regulations, we still do not want you all to forget the main reason you are here. You are here to have fun. So, make sure you post frequently and just have fun in what you are doing. If you feel your fun is being spoiled in any way, contact a staff member about the situation.

IC Rules

One.
  • Use Characters Titles. Whilst you are role playing, you will come across many people who need to be addressed by a title rather than a name. I want to see this enforced. I do not expect to see Hogwarts students using teachers first names. Titles need to be used such as Minister, Professor, Sir etc.
Two.
  • Remember we are a Chronological Role Play. At the top of this site, we have an announcements box. In that box you can details of the current date and weather expectations for that date. This means you can only role play within the date shown and the weather can only be within the type shown in the announcements box. I do not want to see students in Hogwarts before the start of term etc. This just makes it easier to define holidays and events and makes it more enjoyable for everyone.
Three.
  • No Sudden Discoveries. Places have secret headquarters for a reason, so they stay secret. I do not want to see people role playing that their character suddenly stumbled across the headquarters of the Death Eaters or that a Muggle found Hogwarts, ignored the signs and went inside. This is really common sense but it helps to post it here to reinforce the fact.
Four.
  • Remember Your Place. If you are a student at Hogwarts, remember that and do not start going on 'Death Eater Hunts' or doing something a student wouldn't normally do. This rule is there simple so the role playing doesn't get stupid and we have students over-powering teachers etc. Again a really common sense rule.
Five.
  • No God Modding. This is the ability to give yourself power over others that is far too unreasonable for your character. For example, students managing to kill fully fledged wizards or centaurs capturing hostages etc. This rule makes sure everyone role plays fairly and everyone is an equal (to an extent). Also you are not allowed to post for another person. You may post snippets of a conversation they are having with your character but you cannot control what another character does besides your own.

Graphics Rules

One.
  • Avatar Sizes. Avatars can be no bigger than150x250 and can be no smaller than 100x100. this is simple so your avatar does not stretch the board, and is still a reasonable size so that everyone can see it.
Two.
  • Signature Sizes. Image signatures may be no bigger than 500px in length and no more than 200px in height. Text signatures may be no more than 5 lines long. This is just to make sure that the majority of the page is not taken up by us all scrolling past your signature.
Three.
  • Posted Images. All posted images must firstly be appropriate to what you are discussing and may not stretch the board. there is no official restriction on their size, as long as they do not stretch the board and are not stupidly huge.

C-Box Rule

One.
  • Control your language. Remember there could be any age of person as a member of this forum so please try to control what you post in the c-box. No matter how angry you feel at someone, try to tell them in a polite way and refrain from bad language. Use of bad language gets you a warning, three warnings gets you banned from the c-box.
