"What, out here in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, could have hit us? The seas were calm, and what happened? We hit something. We didn't just hit something, something hit us. Tore the ship right in half!"

A pale man in the torn remnants of a business suit gritted his teeth in the single, surviving lifeboat of the S.S. Meredith. The well-attired man with the east-coast accent was on a trip to Europe to secure some legal haven for one of his biggest clients, a man named Ron Bigley. Ron would kill him if he didn't have his vacation spot all set up in the Mediterranean, but what point was it to worry now? They were going to die here, alone in this boat, alone in the dark. Shivering, he held his (thankfully watertight) briefcase close to him. He wouldn't let anyone have his briefcase, with its various important paperwork, including his very birth certificate. If he had handcuffs he most certainly would have secured the case to his arm. No such luck.

He looked to the person across from him, one of the several survivors that hadn't been swept away by the cruiser's sinking. "You know, this is just my luck!" The man seemed upset, very panicky, on the brink of losing control. "First I'm hassled on board the ship by hooligans, and now... now... now! We're out here, and we're going to die!"

The woman across the male didn't bother to even look at him. At least he was in a bit more a comfortable state than she was. Really, a bright yellow cincher bodysuit that near broke the ribs would make anyone exetremely uncomfortable after show time. Her headress was lost within the accident, and her shoulder length black hair clung to her from being wet, along with the large puffy blue tail feathers that now clung to her legs. Her legs were crossed one over another, adorned with scratches and ripped stockings darker than her skin. Her arms were folded as if she were pissed off. Blue high heels were at her side. She chose not to wear them due to the fact that she might've 'accidently' stomped on the lifeboat and deflate it. Brown eyes finally looked up to the male.

"Look sugar, I ain't too thrilled about it neither. Now do us all a favor will ya? Keep your yap shut," Cheri sounded like a total bitch. Being from New York really didn't help her attitude either.

"Shut my... shut my yap?! Who the hell do you think you are!? We're all in this together, I have the right to speak my mind!" He breathed heavily with gritted teeth, hissing with each inhale and exhale. He shifted, trying to sit up a bit in the wet raft. "And there's not a god damn thing we can do! We're just gonna sit out here and--"

He was cut off by a massive siren, like a whale's call.

"Where the hell...?" His head darted around in the darkness

Another call rattled his eardrums before he was nearly blinded by a massive spotlight. No, it wasn't a spotlight, it was...

"A... a lighthouse? Out here?"

A man groaned and fixed the black fedora on his head. He wore a white shirt with a black vest, and black slacks. he was wearing only one shoe, holding the other one in his hand.

"Ugh. Shutup both of you before I beat you to death. You're making my seasickness worse."

He groaned again hearing the sound. "Jesus, for fucks sake, what was that?"

"Damn right shut your yap! You are giving me a --" Her scolding was cut off by the second male. Cherri gave him nothing but a glare. She seemed to snort, then turn her head away from them. She heard that loud sound and nearly jumped, rocking the lifeboat.

"The fuck?!"

Another, fainter call echoed from somewhere in the distance, and the lighthouse grew closer. In fact, it seemed to be drawing them in, the current pushing them toward the jacket rocks of the lighthouse. He gripped the side of the boat, trying to make out the distance. "We're gonna crash... We're gonna crash! Oh god, we're gonna smash into the rocks and then we'll all drown!" He frantically grabbed for his briefcase and looked at the others. He had nothing left but the stuff in his pockets and in his briefcase, and that briefcase would survive, dammit! "We're gonna... hehehe... We're gonna crash." He turned and jumped into the water, splashing wildly as he tried to swim away from the lifeboat and toward the shore of the tiny island.

The man in the fedora sighed and took his other shoe off, holding them both in one hand. He turned to the Showgirl and said "I think he has the right idea." And then slid in the water, holding his shoes above the water as he half-swam to the shore.

Cherri arched a brow to both of the men jumping out of the boat and swimming to shore. She sighed. The second was probably right. She grumbled, adjusting so she was on the side of the boat, then tipped over into the water. Her heels sunk, but she didn't. The shoes were lost and she wasn't diving for them. They were uncomfortable anyways. With nothing to slow down her swimming but the tail feathers of her outfit, she was rather quick. Cherri caught up and got to the shore with little problem.

The businessman (or lawyer) watched the others followed, standing with his arms out and his legs apart to help dry. His briefcase was fine. The briefcase was important. Moments after Cheri reached shore, the lifeboat smashed into the jagged shore just a few yards off, shattering into pieces. The workmanship was sub-par. He ran a wet hand through his even wetter hair, slicking it back. He looked around, trying to get some bearings. Stairs ran up to the entrance of the lighthouse, which shined and spun, but dimly. It was an old, old lighthouse, that was for sure. "You... are you okay?" he asked, somewhat calmly. Dry land calmed him greatly.

The man in the Black Fedora coughed a bit. "I'm fine, worry about the lady." he sputtered. This sucks, the man thought, sitting on a rock . The one time he had gone on a cruise for relaxation, and it crashes. He sighed and fixed his fedora, his slightly battered face being exposed a bit more. He had bright greyish blue eyes, and sharp, mysterious looking face. He was clean shaven, for he had come to relax, and maybe find love on the cruise. He scoffed as he thought of the ship, probably a huge sinking wreck right now. He sighed and looked down at his shoes, still dry and smiled.
