Climate Crocks

June 23, 1988.

The day I thought that, at last, humans were serious about the 800 pound gorilla of environmental issues.

Senior NASA scientist James Hansen, whose work I had been following for some time, came before the Senate, on a brutally hot summer day – and laid out his findings. He was pushing the envelope of what the data could tell, but his instincts were telling him that what he was seeing was real.

How did he do?

So far, other than a momentary pause in the early 2010's, Dead On Scenario B, the one he considered the most likely!

Not Bad for a 30 year old prediction!!!

The Story of the last Century-

How will world look at 2100?To change our future, first we must imagine it... It's an idea that most of us would rather not think about -- that within the next century, life as we know it could come to an end. Our civilization could crumble, leaving only traces of modern human existence behind. It seems outlandish, extreme, even impossible. But according to cutting edge scientific research, its a real possibility -

A bit alarmist Icy, but not out of the question if we don't increase our efforts.

I posted the video because I thought it was worth looking at. It offers a future perspective of what has already happened and looking back on how it all came about.

Personally, I think it's already too late, way past the point of no return. That's not to say there's no way humanity can survive, only that it likely won't be any kind of life worth living. And as much as we claim to love our children, this is who we are putting this on.

Fluctuations in temperatures are normal. We are headed for another ice age, and that is what should be focused on. Regardless, we'll all be dead and gone so none of this matters.

Why do you keep posting that "Ice Age" nonsense Pat?

The scientific evidence for such thing says natural cycles won't make it happen for at least the next 20,000 years, more likely twice that, and no scientific reason to think it's even possible with the natural cycles the way they are today, even assuming we weren't pumping 40 Billion Tons of carbon into the atmosphere every single year.

Allow me to change the data and I can fit any data to a curve.

Oh my, we will die! The coming week's temperatures here. Cooling in a week, the normal cycle. Ice ages come in cycles and we are headed for one right now. Sorry if this bursts your bubble Brew.
