I'm watching the Blazing Saddles movie for the umpteenth time. It has got to be the best comedy movie ever. Hedy Lamar's gang of thugs are passing thru the toll gate.lol

Yes, Blazing Saddles is a great comedy. Mel Brooks brought in Richard Pryor among others to write it with him. I think it's the first film I saw with Gene Wilder in it. He was a fine comedic actor. Madeline Kahn was terrific doing her Marlene Dietrich impersonation.

There were so many silly bits. I believe there was a Howard Johnson shop with a big sign pronouncing "One Flavor" for sale. I haven't seen it in years. The beans eating scene is probably the one film scene that made me laugh the hardest and longest of any that I've ever seen.

I had a slight preference for Cat Ballou, particularly Lee Marvin with his drunken horse and the singing of Nat King Cole, but Blazing Saddles was very good too...

Loved Mad Mad Mad Mad World - watched it in theaters many times, and it was the fist Video Disc I ever bought.

You left out a "Mad." "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World."

The bit I loved the best is when Jimmy Durante is dying in a junk heap along the highway. As he dies his leg straightens and he literally kicks the bucket.

Wonder why they don't make good movies anymore?

It's easier to just blow stuff up. Coming up with good story lines and truly funny stunts takes thought and hard work.

Everything now is vulgar in comedy, I think we all agree that the movies listed in the previous posts were far superior than any coming out now in comedy. The actor that had the bulging eyes was funny, so was John Candy. Planes, Trains and Automobiles was hilarious, we still watch it on DVD.

I would think that Canadian Bacon, the movie in which Candy
invades Canada would be your favorite.
