They want to cry in their beer that is their business. But they shouldn't be surprised that when they screw around with the President they get spanked. If they are going to sign on to a joint statement and expect the US to do so then they need to stick with it. Not change the moment the President leaves.
What did they "change the moment the President leaves"?
From what the joint statement which was agreed to stated.

Your little boy PM wiped out any agreements which were made.
Please elaborate. Which leader turned his back on his pre-approved agreement?

The withdrawal by Trump was a strategic play and reminded the G7 members that he means business. I wish there was a place I could place a wager as to when the wimps cave and agree to our terms on free trade. I'm guessing by Christmas if Trump follows through with some other tariffs. The auto tariff would crush them.

This board should be required reading for all Canadians.
Perhaps then they would realize that their belief that America
is a friend and ally is nothing more than a myth!

Well, they sure aren't reading the other forum.

When Canada is willing to agree to have a mutual discontinuance of tariffs for US imports; and, US do the same as Trump suggested, it makes it hard to be friendly; and, with you and Brew using rhetoric that insults half of the US population (like Hillary did), it's not likely to improve. It would also help if Canada coughed up 2% of it GDP for military expenditures and not just send it troops to do battle and complain about it.

Remember Canada leads the G7 pack (US, Canada & the EU) in % of tariffs on imports.

"Recent World Trade Organization data shows that America's average tariff for imported goods is 2.4%. Canada's average tariff for imported goods is 3.1%, and the EU's average tariff for imported goods is 3%.

That's:

Canada - 3.1%
EU - 3.0%
US - 2.4%

And you two surely don't want to face the fact that the US is winning big on trade across the border.

Quote:

Trump is targeting Canada's supply management system for dairy and poultry as unfair, even though the U.S. runs a $333 million trade surplus with Canada on dairy and a $1.9 billion trade surplus in agriculture and agi-food.

How big a trade surplus does the US need before it's "Fair"?

So what is your objection to evening the tariff playing field? Afraid of competition?

So what is your objection to evening the tariff playing field?
1. The U.S. doesn't even produce much of the growth hormone free milk required in Canada.

2. The U.S. subsidies dwarf the tariff concerns.

No, it was still being negotiated. Your child PM screwed it by throwing his tantrum. Now Canada will pay for his stupidity.

Wrong again Bert ol boy.

Sorry, Bert, you lose this one Big Time.

Your whole argument that we should be playing on an equal playing field falls flat on its face as long as your gov't keeps dishing out subsidies to your farmers.

So what is your objection to dropping the subsidies? Afraid of competition?
