So Canadians like backstabbing.
Please elaborate. Who committed any such "backstabbing" and how it was done?

A deal was being negotiated. Your boy leader screwed the pooch with his tantrum.

The deal had already been agreed to. The president is the one who threw a "tantrum" on Air Force One by renigging on it.

It's a wonder if any country will want to sign another agreement with the U.S. a long as its leader chooses to cancel them willy-nilly.

No, it was still being negotiated. Your child PM screwed it by throwing his tantrum. Now Canada will pay for his stupidity.

That's not the way the G6 leaders see it

Quote:

Allies were indignant. They were defiant. Yet they were hardly shocked by the outcome of a critical global gathering that had gone worse than any that longtime foreign policy players had seen.

“It was not a surprise,” said Norbert Röttgen, chair of the foreign affairs committee in Germany’s parliament, the Bundestag. “The president acted and reacted in the childish way he could be expected to.”
...

The depth of exasperation showed in a Sunday afternoon statement from French President Emmanuel Macron’s office.

“International cooperation cannot be dictated by fits of anger and throwaway remarks,” the statement said. “Let's be serious and worthy of our people.”

Merkel told an ARD television interviewer, “The withdrawal, so to speak, via tweet is of course . . . sobering and a bit depressing.”

For many in Europe, the question is how best to preserve any kind of multilateral cooperation. Dealing with Trump’s whims and last-minute changes of mind has proved a strategic nightmare.

“How is it possible to work this way if once you have agreed to something, two hours later the guy decides he doesn’t agree with what he agreed with?”
said François Heisbourg, a former French presidential national security adviser. “Is there any space for a multilateral order under these circumstances?”
...

Following Trump’s tweets, Trudeau’s office issued a statement saying he “said nothing he hasn’t said before — both in public, and in private conversations with the President.”
European leaders are indignant and defiant over Trump’s G-7 statement. But they’re not surprised.

They want to cry in their beer that is their business. But they shouldn't be surprised that when they screw around with the President they get spanked. If they are going to sign on to a joint statement and expect the US to do so then they need to stick with it. Not change the moment the President leaves.

What did they "change the moment the President leaves"?

Trudeau changed nothing. Neither did anybody else in the G6.

JT said exactly what he had been saying all along, and the others agreed with him. No backstabbing, just more crying from the Nincompoop-in-Chief as to why he didn't get his way, and why he was backing out on the deal he just agreed to.

From what the joint statement which was agreed to stated.

Your little boy PM wiped out any agreements which were made.
