Trump, on national TV (at least shown on FOX, perhaps not others), suggested doing away with tariffs and said he did not like using subsidies.

Ima wrote, "The U.S. is the only member to ever have requested support from other members when it went after the Taliban."

The Taliban was protecting a path to safety for OBL. Why should the U.S. have to ask any NATO nation for support. It's a given in the NATO Articles. The NATO nations should be actively sending troops and military materials. How many NATO nations are sending troops and military materials to fight ISIS? Why should they have to be asked?
My guess is that there needs to formal procedures for the militaries of various countries to commit to and work with another foreign military so that they don't step on each other's toes.

Re. ISIS, it hasn't attacked any NATO members. Neither Iraq nor Syria is a NATO member.

Nato approves military support for US
Thu 4 Oct 2001

Nato has approved the United States' eight specific requests for military and logistical support in the war against terrorism, after Washington provided evidence of Osama bin Laden's involvement in the attacks on New York and Washington.

Nato's secretary general, Lord Robertson, confirmed that the 18 Nato allies of the US had agreed to back up earlier promises of military hardware and intelligence support.

The support measures, to be taken "individually and collectively", include the provision of Nato's 17 Awacs early warning aircraft, as well as the deployment, if necessary, of ships from the Alliance Standing Naval Force to the eastern Mediterranean.

The US requests to Nato include access to alliance members' ports, airspace and airports, according to Italian foreign minister Renato Ruggiero.

He said the US had asked Nato members to make available their Alliance radar aircraft and to provide financial aid to Pakistan and other countries affected by the campaign.

(Brew says that he always deals in facts. What he wrote here is his opinion, the above are (according to the WTO) the facts.
Ban, you're spouting nonsense. I posted the truth, you posted one barely related fact, covering far more than the topic, milk tariffs. And even then, you left out the important parts.

The question to ask is why does Canada have tariffs on Milk? And I gave the complete answer, with a link to back it up.

Picking up one fact barely relevant to the story and calling it the whole answer is wrong at best, and more like dishonest. Please stop.

No, the President wants a fair trade deal. No more, no less. You on the other hand want to keep sucking on the US teat.

I could use stronger language, but I will just point out that there are absolutely no facts that back up your case.

Your government is subsidizing farmers, ours doesn't do that. We have to equalize the playing field.

Cut the subsidies, and we'll consider cutting the tariffs. Fair is fair.

You keep wanting to talk about a very narrow section of tariffs and subsidies. Why don't you want to look at the overall picture? Oh, that is because like Ban has shown, Canada's tariffs are higher than the US tariffs. Hell Brewster, even Ima admits it. Why do you keep up your charade?
