Now the real story behind the dairy product dispute and why Canada is in violation.
From your link:

Whether Canada’s pricing change is a trade violation, a case of putting Canada first or a reaction to the milk market is a matter of opinion and an issue that could ultimately be decided by the World Trade Organization’s dispute settlement system.
...

How strong would the U.S. case be? The experts we spoke with differed on that.
...

Von Massow said he doesn’t think the case is a “slam dunk” for the United States, and his guess is that the U.S. would fail. “You could argue that this is Canada protecting its farmers,” just as the U.S. recently protected its lumber industry.
...

The U.S. could take the case to the WTO, but Trump’s claim that U.S. dairy farmers are “getting killed by NAFTA” isn’t accurate in this case.

It's been two years. Has the U.S. taken this to the WTO yet?

Canada should join the EU. They would fit right in.

No reason to, we are renegotiating NAFTA and keeping the issue in North America where it belongs. If Canada wants to play hardball with the 800 lb gorilla then that's their business.

America has decimated the Canadian soft wood industry,
costing thousands of jobs.
It seems that they want to do the same with dairy!

Beggar thy neighbor seems to the right wing approach to trade!

Yes, I suppose having a higher standard of living
does allow Canadians to relax once in a while!

Pat, do you mean that Brewster, Stoned, and Sea Dog don't know what they are talking about? Or is it that they are drinking the left wing kool-aid?

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Company:

Canada levies a tariff of 270 percent on milk, 245 percent on cheese and 298 percent on butter in an effort to keep imports out and tightly control supply.
It's not unusual Berton for those you listed to get it wrong. I would however have thought that when it came to a Canadian issue like this they would have investigated and dug up the facts, before spouting untruths. When Trump came out and said the days of the United States being piggy banks to the trading partners, he was serious.
Yes, he was, and he should be. It is way past due.
