I'm still smiling each morning as I awake. Question? Why didn't previous presidents take this practical step? Answer. Because they were owned by special interest lobbyists. Screw Lockheed, it sounds like they have been bleeding us dry. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-22/lockheed-tanks-after-trump-tweets-he-told-boeing-price-cheaper-f-18-competitor-f-35 Lockheed Tanks After Trump Tweets He Told Boeing To Price Cheaper F-18 Competitor To F-35 Dec 22, 2016 5:42 PM Another day, another market-moving tweet from Donald Trump. Moments ago, the president-elect, following up on his recent spat with Lockheed over the F-35, which one week ago Trump said its "program and cost is out of control”, continued his crusade on over-budget government programs, when he tweeted that "based on the tremendous cost and cost overruns of the Lockheed Martin F-35, I have asked Boeing to price-out a comparable F-18 Super Hornet!" |

Is it Lockheed putting it to the country or did the cost overruns occur because of changes to the original spec made by the Air Force? It does happen you know. Quite often. |

Very good point Berton. The gov fiddles with the aircraft contract from day one to completion causing many engineering changes; some very expensive and schedule busting. |
