I guess we should have expected it. Not as if it was anything new. The GOP has a long and (for them) a cherished history of presidential liars. Donnie just put it on steriods

While Trump’s authoritarianism and lack of political experience are striking and unprecedented, the underlying disconnect between reality and public perception that he feeds on and exacerbates is nothing new. The title of Jonathan Schell’s account of Nixon’s presidency says it all: “The Time of Illusion.” Similarly straightforward is the title of Mark Hertsgaard’s book, “On Bended Knee: The Press and the Reagan Presidency,” in which he quotes a former deputy White House press secretary Leslie Janka saying, “The whole thing was P.R. This was a P.R. outfit that became president and took over the country. And to the degree then which the Constitution forced them to do things like make a budget, run a foreign policy and all that, they sort of did. But their first, last and overarching activity was public relations.”

Lets put this in perspective Stoned.

Entering this election we had two candidates. One that had no political experience and was a rogue. In the past two elections the Republicans fielded candidates that the democrats had found a key strategy in beating. Trump was an unknown and the democrats never could get a handle on him. He didn't play by a set of rules which historically the republicans adhered to and the democrats cheated on. Example. When Trump was accused of groping a woman and the democrats thought they had him, his reply was outside the bounds of the normal rules of conduct. Trump's reply was "look at her, do you really think I would grope that fat pig" and he did so innocently and everybody I know cracked up.Trump doesn't have to chase pigs. The wind went out of the democrat sails.

So we have an unknown.

Now let's look at what a known was, Hillary Clinton. Hillary had been on the public dole and in public life her entire adult life. As her husband's tenure was winding down they rented out the Lincoln bedroom for money and he sold pardons to a collection of drug dealers, perverts, tax cheats and gangsters. The Clinton's went through the White House with staff, stealing an assortment of paintings, figurines from cabinets and furniture, had it boxed up and sent to their home in New York The Secret Service had to go to their home and retrieve the property. They left the Whitehouse as self proclaimed paupers. Why? Well Bill had to pay $800,000 to Paula Jones for sexual assault and they had massive legal bills from their Whitewater scams. We saw Hillary as a candidate who claimed she was for women and the poor but in reality has always been for Hillary. From being flat broke to a fortune of $200,000,000 in 16 years was explained by Hillary as having the good fortune of having a husband who was a good speaker. One who could command $150,000 a speech. True. But once she was enshrined as Sec. of State the three part earning plan was let loose. The speech fee for Bill now went up to $500,000- $800,000. With some exceeding that. Then Hillary changed a US policy such as India's Nuclear deal or the uranium deal with Russia businessmen. This was followed by the flow of $10's of millions in donations to the Clinton Foundation.1,2,3 The foundation then was a personal cash cow, Chelsea's $600K salary for doing nothing, her lavish wedding paid for and so forth. So what am I saying in reply to your OP Stoned. Americans KNEW Hillary and the Clintons, they were a known factor and we knew what we were getting.

So far with Trump we have seen some good moves and benefits for America. Had Hillary been elected we know what that game was . Selling our national soul to benefit them.

Lies? Surely you jest. The liar in chief would have been Hillary. She is known as being dishonest and, unpopular.

There are a few things here that are not quite true but I would like you to explain just this one. Explain what you are talking about here.

Chelsea's $600K salary for doing nothing,
