Innovation in water use is already underway and will only get better.

Not as long as you keep taking it from the farmers to give to your ever growing illegal population. Who is going to generate the electricity that you get from other states?

Spoken like a true Sooner, headed for 1890, not 2090!

You need to check the stats, water use in down, commercial, residential and agricultural. Lots of changes and multi-use.

You would get no more water from the Colorado River.

So we have your story about lots of water debunked now tell us about how you have more than enough home generated electricity.

So many things CA would have to do without. It would not take long before you would be nothing but another failed Hispanic state.

Between conservation and renewable, electricity wouldn't be a problem for long.

Water from the Colorado is fixed by contract(treaty) don't need more.

All in all your are starting to sound scared that we might really leave leave you Red State Welfaries in the dust sucking for somebody to support you.

When you figure we have 25% more of our tax money to spend at home I think we'd do just fine, actually better without the rest of you leaches.

Sorry to disappoint you but when you become independent that contract is null and void. No more water from the Colorado.

California now imports 33% of its electricity supply from fast growing neighbors, with about 65% of that coming from the Southwest and 35% coming from the Northwest. These numbers increase most in summer months when air conditioning loads peak. Imports have been rising rapidly: in 2010, California "only" imported 25% of its power.

So no, your electricity problem is only getting worse. So explain how you are going to generate all that extra electricity.

Besides having the most expensive electricity west of the Mississippi River in the continental U.S., California already has the least reliable electricity. California easily leads the nation with nearly 470 power outages a year, compared to 160 for second place Texas, which is really amazing because Texas produces 125% MORE electricity! (here). California's reliability problems will be multiplied as more wind and solar enter the power mix, intermittent resources located in remote areas that cannot be so easily transported to cities via the grid.

Not enough water to grow your food and not enough electricity to supply your industry and homes while living in a semi desert, not a good combination.

But I have to admit, I would dearly love to see you try.

Since we boarder on the Colorado the claims on it will continue, just like other shared water ways.

Much of the energy growth is be held back by the other states dumping power below cost, preventing the upfront investment, that will go away and we will build what we need, lots of room and sand for it. Plus freeing up all the tax money you guys are stealing will give us the capital.

All things considered you need to worry about us leaving.

It's a good thing CA doesn't have Corky for a leader. lol Brown is just about as dumb though so go ahead and secede and see how much water or electricity you get.
