Bombshell: ‘Washington Post’ Confirms Hillary Clinton Started the Birther Movement

New analysis from the Washington Post removes any doubt that the anti-Obama Birther movement was started in 2007 and 2008 by Hillary Clinton, her campaign, and her Democrat supporters.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this month, other left-wing media outlets, like Politico and the Guardian, had already traced the Birther movement back to Democrats and Ms. Clinton. Using his wayback machine on Wednesday, the Post‘s David Weigel took an in-depth look at the origins of the false rumors that President Obama is a practicing Muslim who was not born in a America. Weigel’s reporting contains the final pieces of a very disturbing puzzle.

What Weigel found and re-reported was astounding, details many of us had forgotten or never heard of, including a 2007 bombshell memo from the Clinton campaign’s chief strategist.

What the left-wing Weigel left out of his reporting was even more astounding, including a documented confrontation between Clinton and Obama over the Birther issue, and video of Hillary herself stoking doubt about Obama’s Christian faith.

Because the Washington Post‘s primary job is to protect Democrats, Weigel’s headline and conclusion are an objective lie. Despite the fact that what he uncovered (and chose to not cover) points directly to Ms. Clinton and her campaign, Weigel concludes she had nothing to do with the Birther movement.

Naturally, Weigel’s own facts support the .......cont.

Not true. Some of Hillary Clinton's supporters who were desperate to try to save her run at the nomination way back looked at those sorts of things but her campaign never touched them.

“The Clinton campaign never suggested that President Obama was not born here and never planned to,” Schwerin said.

Emails from Clinton supporters in 2008

In spring 2008, some of Clinton’s supporters began circulating anonymous emails questioning Obama’s citizenship. FactCheck.org and Politico cited these emails as the first time his citizenship was called into question, by a small group of “diehard” Clinton supporters during the Democratic primary as her path toward the nomination began to fade.

“What it goes back to is … not the Clinton campaign or her staff, but her supporters, as she was losing in the, sort of, really bitter spring of 2008,” Ben Smith, co-author of a Politico article digging into the birther movement’s roots, said in a 2011 MSNBC interview. “Some of her passionate supporters were kind of grasping at straws for reasons he [Obama] could be ineligible for president.”

The Washington Post is the source from which Breitbart claimed to have gotten the information the OP was based upon.

Go to the source. It's not true.

Oh but you are cherry picking the information now aren't you. What about ALL the other sources? Just ignore them?

Oh but you are cherry picking the information now aren't you. What about ALL the other sources? Just ignore them?

What other sources?

The ones in the OP.

Here are the facts:

More than a full year before anyone would hear of Orly Taitz, the Birther strategy was first laid out in the Penn memo.

The “othering” foundation was built subliminally by the Clinton campaign itself.

Democrats and Clinton campaign surrogates did the dirtiest of the dirty work: openly spread the Birther lies.

Staffers in Hillary’s actual campaign used email to spread the lies among other Democrats (this was a Democrat primary after all — so that is the only well you needed to poison a month before a primary).

The campaign released the turban photo.

Hillary herself used 60 Minutes to further stoke these lies.

Read the entire OP and all of their sources. So far you are doing nothing but making the point that BreitBart is making.

Of course Hillary started it and she will do something of the same against Trump. She has proven she will lie, cheat, steal or whatever to win this election.

Thank you for your research

That was classic Brietbart. Give credit where credit is due, they are excellent propagandists mixing just enough truth with the required bull and selective editing to make a pretty good case for one who is uninterested in truth or ignorant of the facts.

After a while an intelligent person would just ignore them and save themselves the time of fact checking.

I guess that leaves this board out.

Thank you again.

(yawn) Does anyone think the public is going to forget all those headlines and videos of Trump proclaiming to be the head birther? Practically pledging his life, liberty and sacred..........(well not that) and fortune to the discovery of Obama's "real" birthplace?

If this is how the "new" campaing is going to function it will be fun watching the flames get bigger. If ever there was a time to keep one's damn mouth shut this is it.

Please don't tell me the campaign had nothing to do with that article. Hell it is not even new. It was ignored as far back as May of this year when it appeared in: .................... Where it bombed! (if at first you don't succeed...........)
