It's getting to be a Habit...

Climate Progress

2016 is on track for the hottest year ever.

Yes, it’s hot out there thanks to global warming. NASA reports that last month was the hottest July on record.

That follows the hottest June or record, hottest May, April, March, February, and January. It’s almost like there is a pattern….

How hot was it last month? As the map above shows, parts of the Arctic and Antarctic averaged as high as 7.7°C (13.9°F) above average. No wonder we’ve seen records broken for the melting of the ice sheets and Arctic sea ice.

Nerd Digression: Why is the world so much hotter in July, which is the Northern Hemisphere (NH) summer than it is in, say January, which is the Southern Hemisphere summer? Funny you should ask. Schmidt answers that very question on twitter: “It’s because there is more land in the NH, so temperatures in summer there warm more.”

Since we may now be entering a La Niña that temporarily cools part of the Pacific Ocean, we may not set any more monthly records this year. But Schmidt wants you to know that there’s “still 99% chance of a new annual record in 2016.”

If 2016 does set the record, that would be three straight records in a row — and an ominous sign that long-awaited step-jump in global temperatures has finally come.

Every month, more new records are set,
more Climate Scientists' predictions come true,
more climate disasters happen around the world.

And still, through it all, Deniers say "Where's the Proof?"

It'll make all your mouse poop stink even worse.

In the meantime, did you miss the massive floods in the east? Droughts and wildfires in the west? Melting ice and towns sinking in the permafrost in the north? Islands underwater in the Pacific? Drought all over central Africa?

Oh yess, they don't fit in your political mantra, so therefore they're "False". My mistake - sorry.

I don't think so either so why do you keep saying it?

Brew,
Closer to home the heat here is dropping the line voltage, burning A/C motors out and dropping solar arrays off-line due to low voltage. People don't want to adapt, just suck more power to keep cool.

The line voltage drop is feeding back on itself, line voltage drops, solar powered inverter see too low a line voltage on the feed line and goes off-line, further dropping the line voltage.

I've been off-grid for three hours, but I'm lucky, my solar works without being hooked to the grid, many of my neighbors have no live voltages and no solar in 100 degree plus weather.

What I find amazing is that Denier types remain Denier types even if the Climate is dinging them directly...

Denial seem to be a chronic condition.

Brew,
If you have enough money, things don't matter till they do. I've seen several cases where people put in new A/C that were nearly twice as efficient but three times the size of burned up units. A/C and electrical service trucks are currently thick around here, throw money at the problem!
