I see that Brewster is having another hissy fit.

Since I can't see you Brewster, help me get a picture. Do you fall on the floor and kick and scream?

They were told that it could go to the health care system, not that it would.

Next?

That is not what they said. They said a "significant amount" would go into healthcare. Since half of that money was already committed to other uses that in itself was a lie. Later they admitted it was a lie. That may not be good enough for you but it is good enough for me.

Trying to have a rational discussion with right wingers
is as frustrating as trying to pour water back into a garden hose,
and about as productive!

Okay, so you don't understand what was said about the health costs - that's OK, we all know that you consistently misunderstand any statement you don't like, so we'll move on from there.

They were also told how it was going to stop the flow of Muslim immigrants.

Total Bullship. Britain has almost NO Muslim immigrants in the first place - the ones they get are from all over the EU, and there's more Brits emigrating FROM England than TO.

They just cut their own citizens off from Europe's good-paying jobs.

In spite of the ridiculous claims of cost savings from the "leave" side, the fact is that they receive a LOT of Euros back in termsof Research investment, etc., and the list of Euro-wide corporate accounts that would be lost is almost endless - not all would disappear of course, many would be renegotiated, but enough would be gone to throw the entire UK into a depression - and since they would no longer have the Financial backing of the EU - Too Bad.

This list could fill two pages, but since the Gullibles on this board won't believe any of them, what's the point?
Hogwash and any intelligent thinking person knows it. Hell Brew, the other day you knew all about what the Scotts wanted and were demanding. WRONG as usual.

My Cousin is on the just created committee to work out the legal details on how to divest Scotland of its ties to England, at the Scottish Prime Minister's request.

Time to lift your head out of the Right Wing slime sites, and see what's happening in the Real World.

Most of the world isn't scurrying for shelter and barricading its borders over one more terrorist group. But it's doing it's very best to have each nation help its neighbour - the path to true prosperity.

Maybe if every American bought TWO MORE guns each, they would be safe - well, apart from the 90,000 dead Americans that would result every year.

Brexit would put Northern Ireland in a very uncomfortable geographic situation. Its expansive border to the south would have to be guarded as an international border checkpoint, making the only freely accessible egress from the six counties a bridge to Britain. An even more alarming proposal suggested that Britain could also shut off Northern Ireland from the rest of the U.K., according to the Independent. That would leave residents of the six counties with virtually nowhere to go, at least not without a Visa and going through a checkpoint.

A united Ireland is starting to have appeal among many factions in the six counties. Northern Ireland’s unique situation makes Brexit rather unacceptable. Because it only has six counties, Northern Ireland isn’t able to be independent of foreign trade. If, suddenly, all Europe were closed off and Britain failed to meet their needs, what could the six counties do? The EU has actually helped the six counties quite a bit with various financial subsidizing programs, ease of trade, and open borders to Ireland in the South, according to the Guardian. Without the European Union, Britain may not be able to subsidize the six counties, or help them with foreign trade.

Brexit could make leaving the UK a necessity for all those living in the six counties, for both economic and geographical reasons. If a border poll could ever successfully vote in the unification, this would be an advantageous time. In order to vote the measure in, would require the votes of those who would normally be opposed to leaving the U.K. Brexit is a tremendously destabilizing force for the six counties that could influence those normally loyal to the U.K. to vote to leave it.

A united Ireland could be a viable option, even for wealthy Protestant citizens, when faced with the unique financial hardships likely to be brought upon the six counties by the U.K.’s exit from the European Union. In a vote, they could choose between open borders to their south and to the rest of Europe, while having the bridge to England as their only closed border, or being closed off entirely with no unguarded egress from the six counties. Under those circumstances, perhaps many of those normally opposed would be tempted to vote for a united Ireland.

United Kingdom Votes to Leave the EU (June 2016)

Scotland Didn't.

They are not happy.

Scotland voted heavily in favor of “remain” with 62% while Northern Ireland voted 56% in favor; both provinces thus expressing strong Europhilia. There were hints of a second Scottish referendum even before the results were out.

Sir John Major, the former Prime Minister, said there would be “a high probability that Scotland will hold another referendum and leave the UK, and as a result the UK would be fractured“. The House of Lords Select Constitution Committee has warned that the referendum poses a risk to the union.

A few month back, the SNP had stated:
Quote:

Ahead of the Scottish elections on May 5, 2016, the Scottish National Party (SNP) stated in their manifesto: “We believe that the Scottish parliament should have the right to hold another referendum if there is clear and sustained evidence that independence has become the preferred option of a majority of the Scottish people—or if there is a significant and material change in the circumstances that prevailed in 2014, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against our will.”

And post the outcome (52:48 in favor of leaving the EU), the sentiment is getting stronger.

The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, brought up the Scottish Independence Referendum, quoting the unambiguous Scottish vote as a sign that Scotland would prefer remaining in EU rather than UK.

In a statement delivered before the official UK vote was declared, the first minister said: "Scotland has delivered a strong, unequivocal vote to remain in the EU, and I welcome that endorsement of our European status."

She added: "The vote here makes clear that the people of Scotland see their future as part of the European Union.

"Scotland has contributed significantly to the Remain vote across the UK. That reflects the positive campaign the SNP fought, which highlighted the gains and benefits of our EU membership, and people across Scotland have responded to that positive message."

JK Rowling, who strongly opposed Scottish independence from the UK, also conceded that everything has changed now.

Scotland will seek independence now.

Cameron's legacy will be breaking up two unions. Neither needed to happen.
