Will the EU leaders and stay supporters now accept the vote's outcome? Or will more games be forthcoming that attempt to deny the winning side?

Brits Oppose 2nd EU Referendum By Two To One

by NICK HALLETT29 Jun 2016106

The British public oppose holding a second referendum on EU membership by a margin of almost two to one.
A YouGov poll published today shows that less than a third of the public, 31 per cent, believe the referendum should be re-run. By contrast, 58 per cent say it should not, while 11 per cent do not know.

This includes 91 per cent of ‘Leave’ voters who do not want a second vote, and also 29 per cent of ‘Remain’ voters.

Even if Scotland threatened to break away from the United Kingdom, 51 per cent would still oppose a second vote. Only three in 10 would support it.

There is also no appetite for holding a referendum once the terms of Britain’s withdrawal have been decided, with just 33 per cent calling for a vote in such a circumstance, compared to 51 per cent who would oppose it.

Since the referendum, various media outlets have been pushing the narrative of “Bregret” – ‘Leave’ supporters supposedly changing their minds and expression their regret for voting as they did.

However, the poll shows there is little evidence that this is widespread, with just six per cent of people who voted ‘Leave’ wanting a second referendum.

The poll does, however, confirm the view that ‘Remain’ voters are sore losers, with 61 per cent thinking Britain should return to the polls on the issue. However, only 36 per cent of them want to hold it immediately, with the rest wanting to delay it until some point in the future.

In a warning to Conservative leadership candidates who may be having second thoughts on scrapping EU freedom of movement rules, the poll also shows that 48 per cent of the public expect immigration to be more tightly controlled after Britain leaves the EU, compared to 42 per cent who think it will not be.

Aside from the ideologic arguments, what do you suppose is the downside to Brexit? It will surely not be all roses and it is going to take a long time to complete. In the end do you really think Britain will be allowed in the same class as Norway?

I have always said that money talks. The problem with the EU is that it has been about creating a one Europe bureaucracy, and it's policies as of late have caused member states problems. Britain is the 7th largest economy, the EU members will not turn their back on it. The open borders policy allowing citizens to freely travel and work will also stay put. Why throw away a good thing. The EU backed trade treaties and immigration issues are getting many member state's attention. In reality, sovereignty is a key to maintaining culture, traditions and uniqueness. So member states agree in principle but the EU leaders don't want to accept it. They want control. The EU is in reality, a German and French controlled entity. I wouldn't be surprised to see Merkle tossed from office as well as many other EU friendly leaders. Nationalism and populism has a strong hold on the hearts of nations right now.

David Cameron thinks so. Who am I to disagree. He knows the situation far better than I. The people have spoken.

My personal opinion means nothing. What I dissaprove of is all the lies that were presented in the case for leaving. The
Brits got what what asked for, maybe what they deserved, but Ithink the case was presented dishonestly.

#1. The idea that 350 million per week saved from the EU would be going into the British healthcare system.

They were told that it could go to the health care system, not that it would.

Next?

Okay, so you don't understand what was said about the health costs - that's OK, we all know that you consistently misunderstand any statement you don't like, so we'll move on from there.

They were also told how it was going to stop the flow of Muslim immigrants.

Total Bullship. Britain has almost NO Muslim immigrants in the first place - the ones they get are from all over the EU, and there's more Brits emigrating FROM England than TO.

They just cut their own citizens off from Europe's good-paying jobs.

In spite of the ridiculous claims of cost savings from the "leave" side, the fact is that they receive a LOT of Euros back in termsof Research investment, etc., and the list of Euro-wide corporate accounts that would be lost is almost endless - not all would disappear of course, many would be renegotiated, but enough would be gone to throw the entire UK into a depression - and since they would no longer have the Financial backing of the EU - Too Bad.

This list could fill two pages, but since the Gullibles on this board won't believe any of them, what's the point?
