The conservative, Right, PM of Britain, who was against leaving the EU, said today that there will be no Rebrexit, that the people of Britain have spoken in a fair democratic election, that he will honor their decision. Why can't this forum's "progressive" Canadians live with it, instead of projecting their distant disagreement and frustration onto others? It's not their country. Why do they feel that they know what's best for the Brits. Perhaps, since these Canadians feel so strongly about the EU, and against half of U.S. voters, Canada should consider joining the EU for their own benefit and security?
The Brits were sucked in by right wing fear mongering.
The same thing could well happen in your country.

When the sun rose and the people of Britain realized
that they had screwed up, of course they wanted a do-over.

You are apparently too unaware to realize
that the world markets and financiers are reeling from shock.
No sane person expected the result of the vote!
So in other words, if you disagree with an outcome, it has to be that adults have been conned into voting how they did? Despite months of publicity and all sides airing their pros and cons.

Why don't you just say you prefer a totalitarian approach?

That was a huge decision to leave the EU, to say they were coerced or were stupid is just ignorant.

Grownups voted and made a decision with their vote. But the progressive just can not abide by a vote of the people.

Right wing fear mongering :teeth: The top Right Wing guy in the country urged the voters to vote "remain." You need to look for another reason.

When the sun rose and the people of Britain realized
that they had screwed up, of course they wanted a do-over.

Sure, the losers want a do over. Just like poker, the winner smiled and the loser said, "Deal," .... a do over. That's life Sea. Not everyone sees things the same. It's just that some can't stand it when things don't go their way.

You are apparently too unaware to realize
that the world markets and financiers are reeling from shock. Win some lose some Sea, if you're going to gamble. Just like David Cameron, the right wing con PM, who gambled his "presidency" and urged voters to "remain," he lost. The right wing con man lost out to the "leavers." He let it up to the majority.
No sane person expected the result of the vote! Expectations! Apparently the polls "misled the people" into that "expectation." Any sane voter who voted "leave" without meaning it... just to make a point... how sane is that? I don't know why liberals have such a hard time with disappointment as things don't go the way they want. They start pushing, elbowing, yelling and screaming, rioting, crying "foul," looking for "muscle," burning. Apparently that's their sanity. Obviously they are in need of some counciling

Jack, do you think qexit would ever happen? With the recent sale of Bombardier jets amounting to over $3 billion Quebec has a good bargaining hammer?

I.M.O. very unlikely during my life time... The Quebec Party is now filled with power angry politicians... pragmatic/charismatic visionaries we had in the '80 and '90's are long gone..
That new order for Bombardier is certainly welcome, but will not be a real hammer as it only represent less than 1% of the Quebec GDP... spreaded over 4 years...
The Federal Government is still sitting undecided about their financial help to Bombardier..... similar to what was done at Chrysler and GM in 2008.. Bombardier is only looking at 1/10 of what GM and Chrysler had...... fair treatment???

Thank God! It appears that the long, grueling decline of the "world markets and financiers" resulting from Brexit has finally, FINALLY, made the turn. No more "reeling from shock," investors are again putting their faith back into making money and wealth:

Global Markets Rise as Brexit Worries Ease
"Some relief as fears U.K. vote could disrupt the world economy recede

How long did that take?
