Anytime a bullying IRS agent walks into most any household, he is outgunned. Let them play Elliot Ness. Baffoons.

The question is why does the IRS need the guns to do their job. So far all the progressives have done is deflect from the question.

For me, I can not give a logical answer to that question. They do not have a law enforcement function.

I don't believe it's Colo who needs to do the thinking, Pat.

I see nothing in your OP that says the staff is going to be armed while working in the office.
Upon second reading, it became apparent that just WHEN the guns would be used never came up.

In fact, like virtually every other Right Wing piece that gets posted around here, there is not a feather's worth of information on why the guns were purchased, but several TONS of innuendo.

In the meantime, paradoxically, you want to disarm government personnel who must go out into an increasingly heavily armed America.

Nobody has guns, or everybody has guns - there is no in between.
Your critical thinking is waning Brew. I'm not going to educate grown men.

Nobody in government, (unless they are a convicted felon or mentally ill) is prevented from owning an AR-15. This isn't Canada.
So, why the question as the thread title?
Think this though Colo. When you were teaching, did you carry your guns with you on the job?
No, I did not. Bit, if accept your thinking, I should have had the right to do so.

You certainly aren't, especially with that sort of confused thinking.

And your critical thinking has disappeared entirely if you think a disarmed government staffer should be heading into a world where every corner hides an armed nutbar who hates the government.

It's the world the NRA and its lackeys in the Republican Party and right winger in general have created, and now, in your paranoia, you want to blame it on some invisible, unnameable group of "Left Wing Elites".

I ask the progressives again. What law enforcement duties does the IRS have which require them to have government issued firearms?

What law enforcement duties do you have
that requires you to be armed?

The government does not issue me a firearm to do a job. Stick with the question for a change.

What law enforcement duties does the IRS have which require them to have government issued firearms?
