Is there some military protocol or rule giving members of the military personal choice about who or whom to salute? |

This is probably a non issue. Transgender along with others " confused " about who they are are not going to join a military. Their thing is trannie bars and strange sex. Damn ,get Obama the hell out of this country. |

Thank you Thunder, Given what you say, it would be impossible for President Obama to be pushing Military to Salute Transgender, Cross-Dressing Soldiers. That means the title of this thread is nothing more than a bogus smear job without any basis in fact. Again, Thunder, you confirmed just what I suspected. |

Not your best post, Thump - many things wrong about it, starting with, but not limited to, the one Colo just mentioned. |

I should have added to my last post, even if such folks are in the military, whether or not to salute them is totally dependent on the stripes and insignia they are wearing. |

You would be surprised what can be done in the case of saluting an undesirable. But, what would you know having not served your country. |

That's exactly the negative attention they don't need. Besides, don't men and women both dress the same in the military? Kinda thought they had a dress code. I would expect they even make women shave their heads. Far as trans persons being in the military, They are about as tuff as they come living a lifetime of abuse similar in some ways to basic training. I can't think of anyone better suited. I would advise against the military for different reasons. As an American citizen I would say your not doing me any favors over there in Iraq or Afgan. You'll come back all used to abusing and hurting people, then become a cop and do it here. |

That is precisely why I asked you and accepted your answer. I am glad that your answer supported my position. Do members of the military now have the individual right to determine for themselves whom to salute? If so, that is radically different than my days in college RPTC. |
