Extremely hot here for last few days and the line voltage has been dropping over the time. I wonder how much more the sag would be without the solar panels on the roofs around here. I'm guessing about 4 P.M. we will see the major drop as the sun goes behind the hill and much of the solar goes off-line.

Gotta find some way to ship power around this continent. All that heat to southwest of us has winds blowing through Chinook Alley like it was trying to turn the west coast into a vacuum - so much power being generated that 2/3 of the windmills had to be turned off - we just can't handle it all...

We have reserves in the mountains that pump water uphill when there's excess power, but they're all full to overflowing...

Some gigantic batteries would be good...

Brew,
This is unfortunately a multi sided problem, with a major part of it being old and poor infrastructure. The main lines are old and designed for fewer and smaller homes.

It would be nice to be able to store and transport energy from surplus regions to regions of need. that would appear to be the next major area for development.

Like I said you DO NOT HAVE A CLUE! This problem is a basic OHM's Law problem in a small area of the city, cause by infrastructure being pushed beyond it's design limits by a heat wave and poor planning.

So you are saying lack of power will not cause any blackouts? LOL
I think you've already had blackouts haven't you?
Get ready for more and much higher bills.

Only those who are unprepared and totally at the mercy of the system like you will suffer, me I have been off-grid for the last couple of days, low voltage is to hard on the AC, reefer and fan motors.
