USAF Thunderbird crashed after a graduation ceremony flight at Colorado Springs. Pilot ejected and is okay. I was going to be with them in Quonset Point RI next weekend, they will now surely ground the team. |

Engine failure? One more save by my companies ACES 2 ejection seat. I think this zero zero seat is used pretty universally by the USAF. The photo I saw looks like the aircraft spun in flat with no apparent fire. |

I'm glad the pilot survived. There are our best and brightest. So, is it mechanical or pilot error? |

I saw a pic of the plane just sitting on the ground, I've heard of pilots ejecting and then the computer lands it safely. |

It looked like it crashed in a flat desending attitude. Flat spin. You can see the forward fuselage bent down. None of my companies aircraft including the F4, the F15, the AV 8 Harrier and the F 18 Hornet had a safe crashing mode. It it was safe, why would the pilot punch out? |

He wouldn't think it was safe but now a Blue got killed. Number six again. Unbelievable and there goes my air show season. |

Wow, two in one day. Maybe they will continue the season after the accident boards finish up. The solos have had several accidents because they are always playing catch up to join the formation. This particular crash happened on take off. The F 18 also has a zero zero ejection seat made by martin baker. I'm surprised he didn't eject. RIP Capt Jeff Kuss. |

He may have decided not to eject to keep the plane out of residences. Very sad. I remember when one crashed in SC about ten years ago, he blacked out due to G's. The team continued with 5 and then brought by a pilot from a previous team. |
