This will give joy to all anti Semitics, especially Democrat anti Semitics
Democrats vs Israel Sanders puts two hostile voices on the party’s platform committee.

Not too long ago Democrats were America’s pro-Israel party. Harry Truman recognized Israel moments after the Jewish state declared independence in 1948. JFK sold advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Jerusalem, ending a de facto U.S. arms embargo. Bill Clinton was famously close to the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
If that party isn’t dead, it’s close. This week Bernie Sanders named James Zogby of the Arab-American Institute and professor Cornel West to the party’s platform-drafting committee. The pair are expected to push hard for a more “even-handed” position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which in practice means denouncing Israel at every turn........................
........Even Mrs. Clinton is only moderate on Israel when compared to the Democratic left. Her State Department was notorious for its denunciations of Israel, and some of her closest advisers are often quicker to denounce Israeli self-defense than Palestinian terror.
The shame of all this is that support for a robust liberal democracy like Israel should come naturally to the Democratic Party. Last we checked, it was better to be a woman, or homosexual, or environmentalist, or political dissident in Tel Aviv than in Gaza. As they write their party’s platform, Democrats might ask why Israel, the one Middle Eastern country that fully shares their values, should be the one they most seek to condemn.
It's pretty much started with the Obama administration and is being carried on with Sanders. The Democrat Party is dead on Israel, the best ally that we have in the middle east.... or was.

This will give joy to all anti Semitics, especially Democrat anti Semitics I believe that Bernie Sanders is the only Jewish candidate still in the running and if he wants "a more 'even-handed' position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," I applaud him for it.

I understand why Thumper doesn't think much of Israel but perhaps he should blame their leadership at the time and not the Israeli people. As for the others of you, apparently you think the so called Palestinians should be able to kill all the Jews in Israel, their stated position.

I don't think any of us liberals blame the people of Israel. We blame the government of Israel for the mistreatment of Palestinians. You guys who support the Israeli occupation of Palestinians homes should do some research and discover why some of us are appalled at the actions of the Israeli government. I guess Ban thinks that if he says liberals are against the people of Israel enough, it will become true. Typical of right wing non-thought.

Your assumption that I have not researched the situation is so very wrong on so many levels. Why do you think violence by the so called Palestinians in the form of killing civilians, the people you say you don't blame, is good for anyone?

The reference is not about liberals, it's about the Democrat Party. Not all liberals are against supporting Israel. The article is about the Democrat Party's decline of the support of Israel.... AND, it pretty much excellerated with the Obama administration.
