It is a scam and they are useful idiots. Very simple. If their leaders told them it was going to be an ice age they would be preaching that. |

I saw soybeans already driving over here. They just planted them a few days ago. Things are way good in Illinois too. |

I'll keep "banging my gums" until something's done about it, or you come up with scientific proof that it's "malarkey". |

By The Way, Thump - it's not just the "Alarmists" who are banging their gums on Climate Change I just looked over the first three pages of this Forum, and there was a grand total of five threads on the subject that were started by me. Most of the others were started by Deniers. Edited by Brewster, May 29 2016, 05:02 AM.

The problem you face Brew is that outside those alarmed like you, the majority aren't. Here in America, this topic is driven by the left and viewed as an attempt to destroy the fossil fuel industry. And, we are now on the cusp of energy self sufficiency. The economy, jobs, how to pay the bills dwarf any environment concerns. I know that is not what you want but that is reality. Ignoring reality is a waste of time in my opinion. |

I understand most of that, Pat. The part I don't understand is why people who are out of work, particularly in the Soon-to-be-Defunct Fossil Fuel industry, are not looking for new, good paying jobs that cannot be outsourced, whether or not it's good for the climate. And why, when they're so concerned about the amount of money the government spends, are they willing to support the money grubbing Fossil Fuel industry that sops up Billion$ in subsidies and tax breaks every year? And not be concerned about the Billion$ it's going to cost, year after year, to repair the damage caused by Climate-related disasters, which continue to get worse, year after year? And then why make it worse by pushing for deregulation of the old, Business as Usual operations that will destroy the country, and in the long run, force the government to regulate everything even more, just to survive? Sitting around crying in their beer and cheering for know nothings like Trump who promises to bring back coal and kill regulations gets them nowhere, and actually perpetuates the country's economic woes. I absolutely agree with your basic premise. Ignoring reality is a waste of time. It's also a waste of money, and destroys the long-term viability of your entire country. Canada's learning that the hard way right now, as we deal with the aftermath of Harper's refusal to accept reality, and his assumption that we could run our whole country on one product.
