Try to understand what the American Bird Conservancy numbers are and then you might be able to comment with some amount of common sense.

Oh, here are the numbers you demand in order to for YOU to have a adult discussion: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/wsb.260/abstract

Here is the contradictory quote from your OP.

Quote:

“We don’t really know how many birds are being killed now by wind turbines because the wind industry doesn’t have to report the data,” says Michael Hutchins of the American Bird Conservancy.

It is entirely likely that changes have been made to limit the number of bird strikes since the earlier data was collected.

Likely? Since they are wanting a 30 year exemption what would they change?

I believe that they are requesting the current five year permit be extended to 30 years. The response to that request should be decided based on real data that has been gathered in a scientific manner.
"So in the end, it would seem that neither the oil and gas industry nor the wind turbine industry can kill eagles without penalty."

If that is the case then your post here is one big lie.
Where or what is the lie? Please explain. I really don't know what you are trying to say.

In one sentence you say that neither industry can get permits and in the other you say that the wind generator industry gets five year permits now and wants 30 year permits in the future. So which one is true and which one is the lie you told.

Yes, the wind turbine industry currently operates under five year permits issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. No, these permits don't allow them to kill eagles without penalty.

Yes, they can kill a permitted amount of eagles per year. I have proven that what you are doing is playing another of your childish games. Thanks for helping me do that.

Every time I think Berton is full of sh*t, he proves he's still got room for more.

And he also proves that he can't read a sentence of more than three words without completely losing the meaning, or even the intent.

You'll see it in his next response here...

And while you're at it, would either you or Berton please prove, by direct quote, that Wind turbines are allowed to kill 4200 Eagles without penalty - not just some editorialist's assertion - an actual legal document.

I won't wait up.

You know we have no specific number and now I will not play another childish game of yours.
I thought I recalled this reply of Newt’s to that question.

"The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed a new plan today that would allow energy companies to operate with permits lasting up to 30 years, while also raising the number of bald eagles they can kill or injure per year without incurring hefty penalties to 4,200, which is nearly four times the current limit. "
