by PIERS MORGAN FOR MAILONLINE, a staunch liberal:

"What the hell is wrong with Barack Obama?

Why does he not seem to have a clue how to behave when major atrocities happen around the world?

The ISIS terror attacks on Brussels were Belgium’s 9/11.

Belgium is a long-time loyal U.S. ally and fellow member of NATO.

Obama, in his capacity as President of the United States, is supposed to be ‘leader of the free world’ and therefore, de facto, leader of NATO.

That alone should have demanded he immediately abandon his jolly in Cuba, where he is cosying up to a dictatorship, and return to Washington to lead the global response with a powerful statement from the Oval Office.

I suppose showing RESPECT sometimes means cutting back on "coolness" and in letting the world know that your way of life will not be altered by terrorists and, instead, showing some struggling effort for humility. I'm afraid it's just not in his genes. When you're cool, you're cool.... that should be enough.

That was an embarrassment to America. I don't think Obi much cares what anyone thinks.

The recent events in Brussels were awful and all nations should learn as much as they can from it in order to prevent any future such terrorist attacks. At the same time we shouldn't fall into ISIS's trap by blowing these attacks out of proportion. When leaders make a big noise threatening to go after Muslims wherever they might be, ISIS gains more recruits to fight against what they portray as modern day Crusaders.

Still, I believe that President Obama should have given the baseball game a pass on that day.

In terms of substance, it was the right course of action. Too many members of America’s political elite, as well as the news media, hype the terrorist threat to absurd levels. Pundits and politicians even have a tendency to compare the severity of the threat posed by such groups as ISIS and Al Qaeda to the dire menace to global peace and American security posed by the likes of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, and they warn that we are on the brink of World War III or perhaps are fully engaged already in that conflict. It is a nonsensical comparison. ISIS and similar nonstate actors do not even come close to constituting such an existential threat.

Instead, radical Islamic terrorism poses a limited threat roughly akin to that presented by radical anarchists in the second half of the nineteenth century. To allow ISIS to disrupt an important presidential visit to Latin America, a crucial and often neglected region in U.S. diplomacy, would have accorded the terrorist group an importance it does not deserve. The news media makes a similar error when it gives every terrorist incident seemingly endless coverage for days or weeks. President Obama sent ISIS a clear message that he would not play into their hands in that fashion this time.

I doubt that the families whos loved ones were killed would agree with just leaving them ISIS alone to plot still more attacks.

Do you honestly believe the location from which the President expresses his concern would have an impact on the nation's plans to deal with ISIS?

Those that let terrorists infiltrate into their countries are going to learn the hard way as will the USA if we do the same.

I believe that actions can have a impact. He took no action.

He made another speech and acted through that took care of the problem which diverted from his fun time.

President Obama avoided falling into ISIS's trap. They would love to have news footed of all the western leaders wringing their hands and bemoaning how successful ISIS had been.
