You're correct, Sea. How silly of me.

Of course Berton, Neutral and Banandangees all know far more about Canada than I do, on all subjects, from medicine to politics to minorities to Canadian priorities, or anything else, for that matter. I'm too close to the situation...

I should apologize...

I never knew French Canadiens were a race...English Canadians are not a race neither.
English Canadiens are also a minority in Quebec, in some régions in New Brunswick, Ontario while French is a majority
Majorities and minorities is not a real concern in Canada

You're quite correct, Jack. I apologize.

I was trying to make a point and got a little carried away, although I have heard some of my friends from Quebec refer to themselves that way.

In any case, my original point, which you have stated more concisely, was that minorities are not the sort of issue in Canada that they are in the US.

It is not in itself a criticism of the US, it's just a fact.

What you DO about that issue seems to be up to Trump at the moment.

"is not a free-trader in any sense of the word."

Left wing propaganda.

He's a protectionist. Have you not listened to what he says?
He insists on fair deals. If you want to call that protectionist then that is up to you and your left wing definition. But if we can get fair deals then he has no problem with free trade.

Why, Brew, do you keep claiming
to know more about Canada than Berton?

Hello pot calling the kettle black.

Hello pot calling the kettle black.
Unlike you, I have never claimed to know
more about America than many Americans.

What I do say is that often,
I am as well informed!

If you are informed Sea, why can't you ever explain yourself? I would love to hear just one explanation on any issue from you.
