https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/time-for-gop-panic-establishment-worried-carson-and-trump-might-win/2015/11/12/38ea88a6-895b-11e5-be8b-1ae2e4f50f76_story.html This article explains clearly the hand wringing and panic within the GOP establishment and their big money supporters. And they answered their own questions, the party faithful were told that once the House and Senate were controlled by the party, that legislation supporting conservative values would flow like water. And it didn't! Conservatives of all persuasion as well as independents and even some liberals have had it. The established republican party has failed them once too often. Draft the loser Romney? The people I know mirror what they guy said in the article---the barber and guy in line next to him at the store love Trump and Carson. For years we have heard of a third party solution, it could be that we are witnessing a collapse and end to the GOP and emergence of it's replacement, like a snake shedding it's dead and worthless skin. I believe the true message in all of this is that the power brokers and establishment will loose their power and be replaced by others. That is what is really worrying them. The senate and house are chosen on a state level so I doubt any of this will disrupt that dynamic, in Nevada Reid's replacement is already decided--a conservative and popular congressman. Now before the left here pee's it's panties in joy -- your elephant in the closet is a dishonest and unlikable 69 year old and socialist. Jim posted the 20 questions you need to fret over on another thread.

The Republican party has disappointed us for too many years now. That is the reason the outsiders are appealing to us. We can't rely on the current crop of politicians to lead us the way we want so we have to look outside for leadership. We don't need another failed Presidency. |

We are witnessing the collapse of the GOP. It started slowly in the "Reagan era" when a good story trumped the truth, or was used as something to "illustrate the truth" and has gotten steadily worse through the years. The Tea Party now buys every cocamamie story put out be it from the birthers or those proclaiming Obama to be a muslim. Truth no longer matters. What does matter is that you slime your opponent That you do everything possible to keep them from succeeding and to hell with the country because as the country goes down their party becomes more electable. The main stream GOP has gone along with this in their cynical way and may now be reaping the rewards. The public to a greater or lesser degree has also gone along each side becoming more nasty as a way to stay competitive. So sit back and enjoy. I think one of two things may happen. First we may be paralleling what happened in 1854 with the "know nothings" and the GOP will splinter into nothing or the public may be so filled with the bull they will go along with this model. We have become a nation where a small minority of racists, bigots and know nothings have halted progress. Right now we have about 40 s in the house and this GOP tail is wagging the dog. The gerrymandering has made their seats safe and we will be stuck with them. Enjoy! |

Why you continue to say the end of the GOP is coming without acknowledging the GOP just won lots of elections. Try making some sense with the facts. |

Fine, we will see. The more people that vote, the harder it will be for them. If that were not the case they would not be busy suppressing votes under the guise of rampant fraud while not ever bringing fraud cases to trial. |

Making up BS to support your ignorance won't work either. You have been saying the end of the GOP is coming for years but they keep winning elections. lol |

Not if it is more people who are tired of the Washington establishment who are coming out to vote. In the last two elections the conservatives stayed home because they didn't have a good person to vote for. This time it will be the liberals who will stay home. All they have is a old white women who is a socialist. |

You don't get it, deadbeats talk a line but don't show up at the polls. They are too lazy, a trait that led to them being worthless deadbeats. |

In the last mid terms democratic candidates received more than 20 MILLION more votes than the republican candidates yet they still have a majority in congress. Welcome to our DEMOCRACY. (oops, I mean undemocratic republic) |
