We recycle every plastic thing that comes into our house... including plastic bags.

We put out the recycle box every week. Plastic, glass, aluminum, tin, and paper goods go in it.

Someone is going to make some money. I buy T shirt bags for about $13 per thousand.

Sounds like good plan to me.

I only take plastic bags on those rare occasions when I forget to bring my cloth bags.

The first two of the three "R" S are "Reduce" and "Re-use". Then comes " Recycle". Recycling in most cases burns fuel and produces waste.

If it's such a good deal why do they want to make money?

The charge is not there tobring in revenue. I would imagine that it is to curtail the use and distribution of plastic bags.

I actually wonder if 10 cents is enough to accomplish their purpose of significantly reducing the use of plastic bags.

Colo makes my point, they are after money more than deterring people from using plastic. Ten bags of groceries for a buck is not going to deter many.

One could always reuse the plastic bags a couple of times. That would keep some money out the hands of the gimmedat enablers.
