Although this article is now a year old, it still gives a good overview of Canadian travel to the US! https://www.td.com/document/PDF/economics/special/Snowbirds.pdf |

Opps, I edited your OP. Sorry. Here is my post. That was a good read. In Washington along the border, Canadians are not spending the money at the shopping centers as they once did. I suspect some of this lack is due to the deepening recession there. I can only imagine the devastating affect this has on Alberta, a Loonie in the dump combined with rising unemployment and collapsing oil industry. I can't imagine getting stuck up there for six months of winter, being unable to afford a trip to some sunshine. I hope the new government quickly turns the economy around because it has a negative impact on border states. The over emphasis on shopping malls along the border is directly attributed to shoppers from major Canadian population centers. We need a strong Canadian economy and Loony for trade |

So far it hasn't affected any Canadian here, in terms of whether to come for the season or not. They are all showing up. They are good friends. I hope they all show up. We have a great time together. |

I imagine that if Jim spoke to and treated his French Canadian "friends" as he does the Canadians on this board, he would soon find out how friendly they are! |

Jim has no idea what is being said. French Canadians, when in a group tend to speak French. They only switch to English if necessary! |

I agree with you but at least they don't do it on a public forum. |

Blame it on Harper's stupidity.... The loonie in the dump is the result of collapsing oil indutry in Alberta For Harper, nothing existed outside crude oil.
