I must have missed it. What part of Canada did this happen in?

Two questions. One, was the knife designed specifically to kill as are most handguns? Two, was the knife designed for concealed carry as are many handguns?

Why does that matter? Isn't it the end result that matters. Anything that is used as a weapon is bad, isn't it, regardless of the purpose of making it?

Of course not. That is one of the reasons no one has suggested controlling axes.

Are you now claiming a knife can't kill? The bullet that killed him stopped him from killing.
Of course a knife can kill - it's just more difficult, especially to commit multiple killings.

No law or any other procedure is going to stop all killings.

It's a stupid argument to claim that if a plan can't achieve 100% success, the plan isn't worth doing at all.

The bullet that prevented killings was fired from a gun held by a professional. Quite different from some amateur playing cowboy. I don't recall anyone here saying police shouldn't have guns.

Two questions. One, was the knife designed specifically to kill as are most handguns? Two, was the knife designed for concealed carry as are many handguns?

This is a quote from the article, "Authorities are investigating a motive. Warnke said the knife contained a blade that was eight to 10 inches long."

-A handgun is designed to kill, for target practice, for defense and to be housed in a holster or locker.

-A hunting knife is designed to kill (as in a bayonet), for gutting a deer and to be housed in a belt mounted sheath or locker.

The article said the hunting knife had an 8 to 10 inches long blade.

This is a picture of a hunting knife with a 9 inch long blade: Link

Or, pick one: https://www.boker.de/us/fixed-blade-knife/magnum/hunting-outdoor-knife.html

Either in the wrong hands can kill, and either can be used for non killing purposes.
