Ben Carson is another example of this sort of chicanery. Carson is an accomplished neurosurgeon, but he knows almost nothing about politics, and his continued ignorance suggests he’s not particularly interested. Since becoming a political figure, however, Carson has cashed in on his celebrity. As the conservative Daily Caller pointed out months ago, “Since 2012, at least eight potential 2016 presidential contenders have released books, with Carson – the former neurosurgeon turned conservative superstar – by far the best-selling author among them.” Although he lied about it at the debate, Carson also has deep ties to Mannatech, a fraudulent medical supplement company (which is currently being sued by the state of Texas for false advertising). As noted by Jim Geraghty of the National Review (another conservative publication), Carson was paid by Mannatech to give four separate speeches, and he “talked about the company’s ‘glyconutrient’ products in a PBS special as recently as year.” Carson was also featured on the company’s homepage, which included a specific tag for Carson-related articles http://www.salon.com/2015/10/30/only_the_gop_does_this_how_wingnut_grifters_hijacked_the_republican_party_wrecked_the_political_discourse/ |

Nobody is shouting MR Stoned. I'm writing in a low voice and printing my text in the customary black print. Shouting wouldn't make any difference to the progressive lib. \ Addendum: Maybe it would help if you read something other than the likes of "Salon" and "Raw Story." .... maybe not. Maybe you do think Hillary is a huckster and you apparently think that is a bad thing. Why is it not bad for Carson as well? |

I don't consider Carson a huckster. Hucksterism is in the eye of the beholder. |

I do. A rather large scale one of course. He also lied about it. Examples Word Origin noun 1. a retailer of small articles, especially a peddler of fruits and vegetables; hawker. 2. a person who employs showy methods to effect a sale, win votes, etc.: the crass methods of political hucksters. 3. a cheaply mercenary person. 4. Informal. a persuasive and aggressive salesperson. a person who works in the advertising industry, especially one who prepares aggressive advertising for radio and television. |

Again, I have no idea what advertising has to do with Hillary, but I like the trait of an aggressive and persuasive salesperson. I thought that's what you guys on the right want in a president. |
