Actually, it isn't. If you read the USGS site on volcanism it looks like the Yellowstone hyper volcano is in a long term decline in activity. There are no seismic indications of a pending eruptions.

But man... Would that be something neat to watch from a lawn chair with a case of beer in the cooler! Never waste a moment worrying about those things over which you have no control.

Hummmm, I guess it is a matter of where one gets the info. I know I saw a piece on Yellowstone that indicated it is a major threat to the US.
