We have good reason to consider the funding of climate denial to be criminally and morally negligent. The charge of criminal and moral negligence ought to extend to all activities of the climate deniers who receive funding as part of a sustained campaign to undermine the public’s understanding of scientific consensus. https://theconversation.com/is-misinformation-about-the-climate-criminally-negligent-23111 I'm talking about Rush and his multi-million-dollar ilk in the disinformation business. I'm talking about Americans for Prosperity and the businesses and billionaires who back its obfuscatory propaganda. I'm talking about public persons and organizations and corporations for whom denying a fundamental scientific fact is profitable, who encourage the acceleration of an anti-environment course of unregulated consumption and production that, frankly, will screw my son and your children and whatever progeny they manage to have. Those malcontents must be punished and stopped. http://gawker.com/arrest-climate-change-deniers-1553719888 What do you think? |

Telling a lie or twisting the truth isn't a crime unless you are under oath. It's their money and they can do what they wish with it. |

The new report on Climate Change and its impact came out today. I realize people like Berton prefer to bury their heads in the sand, ignore both scientific evidence and the obvious, but I don't expect them to wake up until it hits their own bottom line. I call it medieval mentality. As far as funding denial is concerned, I say leave it alone, anyone who follows the money usually traces it back to the big polluters. Better to simply expose them than supress them. That you can dig up some radical blogs like that does not surprise me, you are certainly adept at finding ones on the right. Needless to say I prefer to follow the actual science. |

Those advocating that are the fringe, you certainly also have a plethora of them on your side. No reason to try to shut anyone up. Science is not on their side. You may as well try to silence the flat earth society. I do not agree with the premise of those links, BTW. Deniers are a small minority and recognized as Ludites by most thinking people. I do not include the few legitimate scientists who question the majority consensus. That is healthy. I am refering to the political unqualified nut jobs. As far as legitimate scientists, just 3 words. Follow the money. |

So then following your logic the political unqualified people who support global warming are nut jobs. Okay, I can go along with that. Keeping in mind that I am not a denier and every time you say I am or refer to me as a denier you are lying. |

I do not run a blog on climate change, I simply have an opinion based on the findings and conclusions of the vast majority of the worlds qualified climate scientists. I am a layman and I admit it. I go to a doctor if I have medical problems, I do not self diagnose and self medicate based on unqualified beliefs, even if I have a good idea what may be wrong. I don't board an airliner with the assumption I know how to fly the plane better than the pilot, even if I have had a lesson or two. Same with this issue, I defer to those who are qualified. I realize that you prefer to listen to political quacks for your opinion on the subject, but that is your prerogative. Just don't expect those of us who prefer real science, to politically motivated quackery to pay much attention. |
