| UmmmI said I wasn't going to bring up an abortion topic for awhile--and then I read this in the paper; I almost didn't open up the article based on the headline | |

Yes, provided the remains are handled as the family wanted. I doubt many would want the remains used to heat the building. In any event, the people should be informed what the process entails so they can make an informed decision. |

I am still waiting to know specifically what buildings have been heated buy burning medical waste. An aside, Pat. Isn't i amazing how sch a relevant discussion like this one can happen on this forum in the absence of someone trying to disrupt the discussion by the use of name calling and insults? In fact, such actual discussion are enjoyable. |

In the US most large hospitals have infectious waste incinerators. One wonders if it is not also going on in the US. |

If your question is focused on buildings in the United States, I can't answer the question. I will say that the modern cremation industry as a whole in America, copied human incineration from Europe, Britain in particular. And before we would ever know the answer, we would need to dig into the building plans and heat ducting of hospitals. I would assume that the hospitals here in a quest to save money would copy what technology is inherent in designs in British hospitals. What I can answer is quoted in the OP. Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in ‘waste-to-energy’ plants which generate power for heat. Last night the Department of Health issued an instant ban on the practice which health minister Dr Dan Poulter branded ‘totally unacceptable.’ |

Sorry snout asking, Pat, but I did ask a numer of times and received no answer. I did not see that particular quotation in the OP. I know now that i is there. Thanks again. I will only say now that I see a difference between using incineration to eliminate medical waste and using such for commercial heating. I agree with the UL Department of Health's decision to end the practice. I am sure they did so for health reasons (of the living). |

Most likely in my opinion, the mental health of women who were first cause of the human tissue. I don't know why or how it happens, but having been in hospitals and around doctors and lab workers, they seem to be in many cases uncaring of the person, and view the person as an object. A recent example. A very close friend of my wife and the vice principle of the high school told her husband after dinner that she felt odd and that something was going on. He got the blood pressure gadget out and checked. his wife's blood pressure was extremely low. He owns a heating and air conditioning company and said to me how he knows all about pumps so the first thing he though of was that blood was leaking inside. (I still chuckle over that statement}. Anyway to make a long story short, she was airlifted to a trauma center and her aorta had sprung a leak. So here is what happened. First one and then the second surgeon came into the waiting room where this mountain of a man was bawling his eyes out, he knew the wife was in bad shape. These mindless insensitive members of the medical profession both told my friend that she was going to die and then turned around and left him sitting there. He had no family with him as they were on their way to the hospital. No priest was called or counselor. Nothing, just two statements within minutes of each other. And both need horse whipped for their attitudes. I think I related how when I had my recent heart spell that i told the admitting people and anybody I came in contact with that I was Mr. ******* and was to be addressed as such. I wanted to be treated with respect and dignity as I believe we all should including our friggin organs and such. |

You can't legislate manners and good taste. Approx. 2.5 million Americans die each year. When my mom died the hospital staff treated her, and us, with kindness and consideration. |

I just read that they have recovered 25 bodies and there are now at least 90 confirmed missing. The slide area is so dangerous that it has come to the point that most if not all the missing will be left in place. |
