British Commonwealth bows to the Mecca and enshrines Sharia law into English and Welsh law.; I imagine Canada is not far behind in doing the same

No arguments from me here. If somebody wants to immigrate to a country they should be willing to follow the laws of that country. It should at least, go to a national referendum.

I think if a person wants to immigrate to a country they should do so legally.

Most do. You have the issue of having a long land border with a poorer country.

To me the real problem is religion being codified in law. They should be separate. Patriarchal is the manner of all religions and you will never find equality when that reigns supreme. Women are second class and they are property.

The problem is all the fine(sane?) Muslim population being thrown under the bus by their radical brethren. I have practicing Muslim family friends that are just as productive and American as anyone here

How do you separate religion and morals when you talk about being codified in law?

IMO, the only group that should be allowed to practice their own law within their community are aboriginal Indians who were here first. That works well in BC.

I don't believe morals should be codified into law. Natural law encompasses what we need in the area of morals if we are going to live in societies. We don't need laws based on religious dictates, people don't need to be told how to behave, the instinct is within us all. As far as man made morals which included what we do with our bodies and personal lives, this is just wrong.

Then the crimes of theft, murder, rape, etc.... need to be taken off the books.
