I do not undersand. Why would anyone actually want to restrict a discussion of political corruption to only one of the major American political parties? It wouldn't be partisanship would it. It wouldn't be US right wingers being embarrassed about political corruption in the Republican party, or would it?

Dems seem very concerned about talking about me but after 4 pages of posts not one of them have addressed the specific subject of this thread.

Well its bad, and needs to be rooted out, however it pretty much confirms my belief that all politicians are essentially scoundrels or on their way to becoming one. Politics brings out the worst in human nature. That was true back in the middle ages and it is true today. The free money is a big temptation, which is why you see so much expense account abuse. We have had several scandals in Canada over the last year involving all political parties. The premier of Alberta, for example just resigned. She spent 45k of public money to go to Nelson Mandelas funeral. How much does an economy flight to Joberg cost along with a reasonably nice hotel and meals and car rental? 10k tops. These are elected officials, not royalty. The president of the US and his family require expensive security, 99% of the public would not know the premier of Alberta if she bit them.

I agree in principle Colo, historically this board has a habit of threads growing beyond the content of the OP. But the problem I see is when little if any input by others goes into discussing the OP. Maybe it is subject fatigue. Members getting sick and tired of some of us posting the same BS in a variety of ways. We should by now all be wiling to agree that no political party has the market sowed up when it comes to greed and corruption. That should be a given and we probably don't have much left in us that is willing to dig into yet another example.

Maybe it's time to debate religion and philosophy. It's too soon to bring up birth control of whether Obama is a citizen again. Baseball? The football draft? Gardening? Rv's? Sex? Old man sex? Guns? Nope, that one is finished for awhile. Someone come up with something new and worthy of debate and arguing?
